Thank you! I was so relieved to find a straight-talking Aussie who gets quickly to the point yet anticipates all the little hurdles that can stump beginners like me for hours. Brilliant teacher! Made my life SO much easier. Thanks, mate!
Glad you found me Euan! Any other topics you'd like me to cover with Pro Tools or recording?
Ditto. Thanks so much. Great straight forward video.

Dude...THANK YOU!!! I've been sitting on these Urgitone Drum samples with NO EARTHLY IDEA how to use them, (of course a big part of that is me just being a technological dumb ass) and in just a few short minutes, you showed me how to make them work! I owe you a big one, my friend! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!

Andrew,,,,this is most awesome video I've seen and thank you 1000% percent....I have had protools 12 for several years and have use it exclusively for recording audio (guitar, mic, etc.) track....BUT....thanks to your video, I'm staying up until 3:00 am putting real tracks together with drums....I'm an instant subscriber!
Thanks Mark, I love it when one of my videos finds just the right person :-)
Bad ass! Thanks! Really helped me out!
You're welcome. Any other topics you'd like me to cover?

Awesome! That's what I'm here for.
helpful
Hi, where I made mistake, I made drums but I cant adjust volume knobs induvidualy, they get back to their position, thnx
This is great! However, in my xpand there are no presets. In my searches I keep finding that presets are not available in windows, but I see that you are also using windows... any thoughts?
I can't select notes. :( Also, there is no keyboard on the side for my version..
Hi , great video 👏🏻i have a question ,
When I program drums with a keyboard I usually play a basic beat , Kick , Snare & Hi-hat. Then I play (on keyboard too) my open hihats , ghost notes & drum rolls, cymbals etc on a separate midi track, quantize later & bounce both tracks together into a wav, Is there a way to record the extra midi rolls etc all on the same track without wiping my basic beat ?
Also what does the quantize swing button do ? Thanks
I think the way you’re already doing it is the ideal way. But if you do want to add MIDI over the top of your existing track without wiping what’s already there (Non-destructive recording), you need to choose “Merge MIDI” mode on the transport.
@@HighRoadMusicTutorials Cheers thank U :)
Is there a way to find out what keys correspond to which drum sounds? Like a list or a legend of some sort?
Yes, I explain it in this video and you can find a legend in the description. It's called GM (General Midi) drum mapping. ruclips.net/video/5b4na4rdFbY/видео.html
When I go to the Xpandi2 preset drop down as per your video 4:02, I only get factory default as an option. I don't get anything regarding drum choices in the drop down. Can you help please . . .
Believe it or not I have the same issue on one of my computers! I haven't gotten round to fixing it yet but from a quick search it appears that it may be a compatibility issue with PT12 installers and Windows. All I could advise is downloading and reinstalling the Xpand!2 software again. This forum suggested a fix which didn't work for me, but may be worth a try.

Maybe I should do a video on this topic?
I just want to kindly ask, do you know if one can use a graphics tablet with Protools?
I suppose you could yes. I mean, a graphics tablet behaves just like a mouse in most programs so I don’t see why not. Good idea
@@HighRoadMusicTutorials I wasn’t sure, not sure, if a graphics tablet’s interface would work with the software. Hence the question. I just got one and am planning to set it up in the next days. I’ll give it a go. See what happens.
Xpand!2 isn’t available in my plugins. Any reason why?
You probably have to download it separately. Go to your Avid account and see what plugin downloads are available to you.
My protools does not have Xpand, how do I get it
It should be a free download within the Avid Link app. Part of the AIR Instrument bundle I think
Ive spent the whole day searching for just such a video and I was almost losing my mind because I couldnt find any video that had this simple and useful info.... I was beginning to think that protool users are all ins@ne.... Thanks for this!!!
You’re very welcome. This is kinda why I make these videos, because all the other ones assume you already know everything. Very frustrating for beginners. Glad it helped
Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
