Was there any mention in the manual about starting the gen with your trailer connected ? , i have a Firman and they dont recommend starting it unless all connections , trailer etc are turned off !When i start mine from inside my camper i kill the main breaker before firing up the Firmam ,,,
I'm betting this generator does not a fuel pump like the Hondas. So if you want an extended run tank you'd have to look for a replacement fuel cap with a fitting to hook up tank that is elevated off the ground. That way gravity would drain gas into the generator. If you want safer way go to Pinellaspowerproducts.com. They have many kits that show you how to install a simple pump inside your generator so the extra tank can sit on ground. The reason Hondas have fuel pump is their tank starts above carb but also ends below carb. Thus the fuel pump.
I bought the same one. One observation, be-careful exhaust doesn’t melt plastic bed liner. I’ve never owned an inverter generator. This is my first. Mine sounds as loud as yours may sound? Is this good, normal, bad in you experience?
I have a spray in bed liner so i think it's fine. I also have a Honda 2000 generator and my cummins isn't much louder if at all. I think it sounds loud in the video because it was in the back of my truck. So far i love this thing.
For all the people researching generators, this is a fully Chinese built generator with a Cummins Badge. Parts are NOT available at Cummins shops! Buy a generator at least with parts support. Don’t let the 50cent remote start keychain dazzle you lol.!!!
@@rotaxriderI’m not sure you can source parts for this, definitely not from Cummins. Westing house, Champion, and WEN all badge this same machine as well, maybe one of these has a available parts catalogue. I highly doubt it.
@@behnkeee I wasn’t looking. I was just researching the Onan Cummins 4500i prior to buying one. My good friend is a dealer and also does in house warranty repairs and I’m buying one from him. It was important for me to buy something that wasn’t shipped out for repairs. Just got mine yesterday.
Nice. I just purchased the briggs and Stratton q6500 and its on route. I might just cancel and buy the cummins. How much did you pay for your generator?
I initially bought the B&S 6500 and returned it after its first use. ended up getting this p4500i and it’s a game changer!!! Quieter, can run multiple electronics at the same time! The best...Cummins customer service is top notch!
I put about 50 hours on it last summer and worked great. I'm heading to Arizona next month for 2 weeks of dry camping and will try to get an updated video out after I get back. So far this thing has met all my needs.
@@BrandonMitchell526 The rack itself is a rizorback rack but the ramps that came with it didn't allow me to close my tailgate. So i bought arched ramps and cut them down to fit and that let me lift my back ATV tires up and that let me close my tailgate completely.
Ever hear of “Chongqing Dajiang Power Equipment Co. , Ltd.” AKA Ducar That is who makes the engine for this generator. 100% Chinese quality! It is a disappointment that Cummins would sticker this for money. Ever notice how the Predator, Powerhouse, Westinghouse,...... they all have the same engine specs. They look the same too. 🤷🏼♂️ If you want quality you goto pay for it.
Roger Johnson I’m not sure about you, But when I need a generator, I depend on it. So to me it is unacceptable and not worth the hassle to deal with Chinese built products like this. Even when a reputable company rebrands it. You get what you pay for. When my power goes out, my home run business needs to keep operating.
I almost purchased one of these generators until I read some of their warnings about using this generator. They advised not to use their generator in wet or rainy conditions. That was a killer for me so I decided against purchasing. Too many rainy or snowy camping trips to contend with.
I have the Westinghouse version love it year and a half now no problems runs for a couple hours almost everyday definitely recommend it
Definitely recommend, I just bought one yesterday in Arkansas in my way to Texas! I love it!
Looks like a high quality generator
Will it fit in the under storage bins in a class A RV?
Is it still working good, would you recommend it?
How has it held up? Just purchased the same generator. Still in the box😂

Nice trailer
Does it set below the bed rails on your Ford? Trying to determine if it will fit under bed cover?
Is there any way to make a fuel extender tank for this generator like the kits they sell for the hondas?

Where did you get your inverter generator and how much Please?
How long will it run on a full tank with ac on? Is that screen time and estimation accurate?

The one that came with the camper & what you would use at a full hookup site in a campground.
