- From The Price is Right's 35th Season's Christmas week, a contestant plays 3 Strikes to try and win a new Cadillac. He stumbles at first, but stages a remarkable comeback, until disaster strikes at the end.
That is probably the most painful car game loss I've seen yet. From four correct numbers with no strikes to a loss....'nuff said!
5:20. OHHHHHHHHH! That's typical Bob Barker heartbreaking reaction after a painful loss.
5:19 Bob: Make it a number- OH!!!! What a Miserable loss! Oh!
Christian: Why did you do this to me, Bob!?
Bob: Augh! Now listen to this, what did you just say?
Christian: Why did you do this to me, Bob?
Bob: Why did you do this to me. I tried so hard to give this kid a Cadillac!
Christian: No, I know you didn't, It's . . . It's not your fault!
Bob: Well, go take a rest and you'll be back to spin the big wheel.
Painful Loss
Christmas 2006 is ruined! Thanks to the Grinch!
We'll be back after these words.
3 consecutive strikes. Hold on it’s another historic moment!
I saw this the day it aired; was in my high school broadcasting class, but didn’t have a project to work on so I was killing some time.“Painful“ doesn’t even begin to describe this loss.
Every time they remove a number from the bad, your chances of drawing a strike go up.
It is quite obvious that Roger Dobkowitz did not want Christian to win that Cadillac in 3 Strikes.
Which also featured the most expensive 3 Strikes car ever, a $56,000+ Lincoln Navigator.
Do you have the clip where a contestant named Barbara plays for a suburban in 3 strike me (she had long, dark brown straight hair) 🙂👌🏻
At the time, the Cadillac CTS is known to be the baby Cadillac of that era.
Think how much more painful this and other painful losses under Bob would have sounded with today's Drew Carey losing horns (the one w/the drumbeat)!
I actually enjoyed watching this video along with Bob's reaction at the end despite the painful "Gobble Gobble" loss.
Oh yeah, later in this same episode, he spins 95 cents on the wheel and then the contestant after him gets the dollar and gets to the Showcase, talk about bad luck ;(
Christian is dead cute!
Bob's last Christmas week as host of The Price Is Right
"Oh, Christian! Christmas 2006 is ruined!"
Wow! That hurts after doing so good and got every single number until drawing three strikes in a row.
5:20 4 Numbers correct and 3 Strikes at the end. What are the odd?!
the poison arrow got him in the end.
It is a painful loss because he was picking all numbers until the 3 strikes came along.
The inverse would be epic i.e. Draw 2 strikes, then properly place all the numbers! Saw that on Pathfinder where someone blew all 3 second chances just to get off the first number, then they got every number right to win!
Here's a dumb loss, Lucky $even, someone had 5 bucks left on the last number and guessed it as 0. The number was 9! Why not just say 5!
I like how he assures Bob that it wasn't Bob's fault-- very sportsmanlike for Christian to say that, at least IMO.
meh he comes off as an arrogant prick
This is totally insane! A 1 in 8 coincidence ruins everything.
I be laughing at those losing buzzers and horns 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I *LOVE* The Price Is Right losing horn! **BUURRRRRR!!!** LMBO!! 🤣😂🤣😂
5:19 Make it a number-- (with audience)OHHHHHH!!! WHAT A MISERABLE LOSS!!! OHH! AHH!

"Why'd you do this to me, Bob?!" 😄

Bob was ready to call it quits after this painful loss lol
Michael Taylor, do NOT, I repeat NOT declare this a technical win.
Anyone have the January 22, 1993 episode with Ebunolorun Sims?
I heard there was a painful loss in 3 Strikes in that episode.
I feel the pain to!
5:09 "Number think Number." I think he was thinking bowling. You know if you get three strikes in a row in bowling that's good and that's a turkey. They should've gave him a turkey for that.
Since when do they put the strikes back in the bag after they are pulled? If my eyes and ears didn't fool me, I think Bob put the first strike back in the bag after it was pulled. Shouldn't have that been discarded?
midnightsocietynyc the original rules had the 5 numbers and 3 strike chips.
At some point, they changed the game to only include one strike chip that would be replaced if drawn. By doing this, it actually improved the probability of winning as at any given time there are fewer strikes in the bag (except at the end). The game is still pretty tough.
Actually, they originally had 4 numbers and 3 strikes. (Chalk another one up to inflation.)
Do you think we should get a break and come back and finish this?
That is the worst loss from a bad luck stand point I’ve ever seen. 1 strike which I get they didn’t to improve winning odds but to pull the strike 3 straight times with 1 number left his a shot to the groin.
R.I.P. BOB BARKER
This pricing game could have been easier had the first number was given for free.
That was done in the 1994-95 syndicated version with Doug Davidson. However, since contestants had to place 4 numbers instead of 5, the car offered was much less expensive. The way it's setup here, and since Season 38, is that the odds are against the contestant, but they will be handsomely rewarded if they win. It's a good combination of luck and pricing that makes for exciting television.
That famous TPIR loser horn blows geez hearing that horn in my 💤 sleep!
The Lord said, not today! I’m gonna bless you with something different! It’s funny how the Lord works like that
Every day I bet he thinks about this.
This is why 3 Strikes is one of my least favorite car games on TPIR. No matter how well you play the pricing part of the game, in the end, you still have no better than a 50% chance of winning based on dumb luck.
And the ARP was $56,321. And not only that, the contestant only locked in 3 numbers before striking out.
His luck improved...I watched this today in 2023 and this time he locked in 4 numbers before striking out and the price came down to $32,489. I am going to rewatch in 2033 and see if he wins!! Wonder what the ARP will be then.🤔😂✌💲❌❌❌
Why did you do this to me Bob?
Everything is good for you
@giovannipancia
In poker this is a "bad beat." All that for nothing!
Bad luck
poor guy, he was kinda kool 2 ,why did you do that 2 me bob? its not your fault.LOL
what will drew say
5:20 naughty list for Christian
5:20 FUUUUUUUUUUUU--
4:37, 4:48, 5:20 Heartbreaker
Glad they took this pricing game out because it is time consuming and more then 90 percent of the contestants loses
I rather have 3 Strikes than that so called Stack the Deck that one is horrible.
First number is 2? What?!
"How long ago did you buy your first Cadillac?" Hilarious.
5:20
4:49

Dude, get a life.

Joseph Patin Somebody had all $7 to play with in Lucky $even...the last digit was 8 and the contestant guessed 0. WHY??!! A 3 through 6 guaranteed a car! In your case, Joseph, a 4 or 5 almost guaranteed a car. But a 0 is almost certain death.
