as a person who has been studying modern art for 2,5 years by that point, i can say that modern art is about portraying the IDEA, not flexing your skill. when it's about skill and aesthetic it's called fine art (the thing i was styling for 3 years before i started studying modern art) on a surface level this may look like impressionism, but impressionisms goal is to portray the impression and vibe than the artist felt about the scenery. this is just a pretty picture. no meaning, only skill flexing. experimental matchmaking is a great thing, but it's only a tool in modern art, not the end result
That fly cube was honestly pretty cool in my opinion. Idk what it's supposed to represent (if it's even supposed to represent anything) but the sheer dedication put into that thing is impressive as hell. Making and transporting something so detailed made with something as delicate and difficult to find in such good condition as dead flies is impressive and admirable. Edit: y'all, this piece classifies as taxidermy. Taxidermy can be an art. I interpreted it as the artist really trying to push the bounds (which I'm always a sucker for) of what you can do with bug taxidermy specifically, and coming up with a threaded, suspended piece.
If an "art" whole thing is supposed to represent something, it's not art, real art should be BOTH visually appealing AND have a deeper meaning. That is true art.

Además, el arte moderno surgió en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, y fue básicamente un nutrido grupo de artistas infravalorados cuyas obras no eran aceptadas por la sociedad. Furthermore, modern art emerged in the second half of the 19th century, and was basically a large group of undervalued artists whose works were not accepted by society. @@darbas2466 but depending on the story, it makes modern art. If you give that towel meaning it's art, if you just give it a story, that'd a towel with a story.
Modern art cannot truly be seen as art from the old perspective of beauty because it represents a fundamental shift in what art aims to achieve. Where classical and traditional art, including the work of masters like Van Gogh, often sought to capture beauty, emotion, and a recognizable reality, modern art moves beyond these boundaries. It challenges the very definition of art, emphasizing ideas, concepts, and innovation over aesthetic appeal. Thus, modern art and classical beauty are part of different artistic paradigms. I myself do not consider “trashing” art.
This modern art is more symbolic - like the sand bucket falling one was the author seeing the beauty in the creation of art. The last one was a painting. I think the reason people don't like modern art is because some takes way less work to produce and isn't appealing to people's eyes as a painting is. I have mixed opinions with it 🤷

This screams “I don’t know what contemporary art is”
as a person who has been studying modern art for 2,5 years by that point, i can say that modern art is about portraying the IDEA, not flexing your skill. when it's about skill and aesthetic it's called fine art (the thing i was styling for 3 years before i started studying modern art)
on a surface level this may look like impressionism, but impressionisms goal is to portray the impression and vibe than the artist felt about the scenery. this is just a pretty picture. no meaning, only skill flexing. experimental matchmaking is a great thing, but it's only a tool in modern art, not the end result

Most modern art is not art but a wayfor rich people to stop paying taxes
@@darbas2466 but depending on the story, it makes modern art. If you give that towel meaning it's art, if you just give it a story, that'd a towel with a story.
@@darbas2466 modern art can be made by anyone, you're just looking at the rich people.
