I'm also amazed that this came free. It's complex, and I'm grateful to Music Tech Help Guy for putting all his videos out. I see plugins for sale that pale to what this Alchemy synth does and just smile. Thanks for putting these videos out, always happy to learn more.

This is an amazing bit of extra 'kit' for Logic. Your knowledge of Alchemy is top drawer as always with the various plugins within Logic. I've followed your Logic tutorials since day one and they have seriously made me a much more competent user! Great job, thanks from the UK.

Thank you so much for these tutorials! I've had this synth for years and have been stubborn to learn it. You make it so easy and I'm already making some really great sounds :)

In the most recent Alchemy update, a MIDI track in apple loops came out called "Saint Tropez Synth Chords" that uses a ramp up LFO on an amp effect to do a really cool side chain. The preset is called Floating Sensations and isn't available in stock Alchemy, and it's a complete preset as well.

Love your tutorials! Question: regarding the MSEG, I noticed some of the points are blue, and others are orange (9:30). What do the colours indicate?

Is there a way to modulate the velocity of notes so the higher notes are quieter? For example, I made a super saw preset and the high notes are always overpowering. Catering to my workflow, I wanted the higher notes to gradually get quieter the higher I go without adjusting the velocity of the midi notes in Logic. Thanks in advance!

@Ghostatic you can actually set a modulation source for the master volume to Note Property > Key Follow. Think you did find it out anyway but otherwise hope I could help you

Loving your Alchemy tutorials. Thanks for introducing me to MSEG! It looks like Xfer's LFOTool, though I'm not sure which one is more flexible.

@Juicy Leek Alchemy came out a few years before LFO Tool, and Alchemy used to be sold separately and was made by Camel Audio.
I’d say LFO Tool and Alchemy’s MSEG are about equal in what they can do to modulate your sounds. You asked which is “more flexible”, which could mean many different things. Flexible how? So, it’s hard to answer your question exactly.
But...if I had to pick, I think Alchemy’s MSEG might be more flexible than LFO Tool because you can use it easily and is always there when you open Alchemy. The LFO Tool has to be set up on a mixer’s channel strip a separately, and has to be done a certain way. I know that’s a dumb reason, but that shows how good they both are, it’s impossible to pick one, they’re both amazing.

@@russell_szabados thanks. I’ve learned a few things since this comment, and I think Logic’s Step FX does pretty much everything that LFOTool can do and more

@Juicy Leek you’re welcome. And you’re right...I’ve been using Logic 10.2.4 for years and forgot they added Step FX in more recent versions. Cool, I’m glad to hear you’re using it and getting as much use out of it as LFO Tool.

Love your videos man. One question after watching this one, the sequencer and MSEG seem to be very similar to me. Can you tell me the benefits of using MSEG over the sequencer. Thanks!

I’m a bit confused, a couple of times in this series you’ve mentioned that the ADSR Env has to be on or it could get stuck and require a space bar. But doesn’t Alchemy recognize a Note Off? Most (well, every other one I’ve ever seen) synths just work like an organ when there is no envelope used. And the note goes off when you let go of the key.

Does anyone know what the "E" button is used for. Its located in the Modulation Section to the left of the ModMap pull down arrow.
