The thing with Thogden for me is he reminds me of the annoying influencer side of YT, the side that feels disingenuous.

I personally enjoy watching Thogden. I can see why many people don't like him, but as someone who lives in the Unted States and can't afford to go to these big European games, his videos give me a sense of what its like attending keeping me hopeful that one day I might be able to watch an epl or Bundasliga match live one day. And remember , just because you don't like a person, doesn't mean you have to personally attack them in the most vulgar way possible.

If you are interested in a particular club you should watch vloggers of said club who support them, without that real connection to a team you will never get the full experience because to get that requires more experience than just turning up for a game you think will get views, you also learn a bit if subtitles are required.

Honestly the problem is people take thogden too seriously... he is a character and he obviously genuinely loves football and thats what great about him. He takes his fans on the trips he goes to to foreign countries to feel what not everyone can. His prem predictions are for fun, people need to just grow up and understand its not that deep. He is high energy and loves what he does and i love him for it, people who go out their way to hate need help and people who are bothered by how he acts shouldnt watch. What harm does thogden do, thats right NON.

Very balanced view Vizeh, well done. I personally don't watch the vlogs just because it's not my thing, I watch his "one player your club should sign" videos, predictions etc etc. It's all just jealousy I feel like, and even though I do dislike his character in many ways, he's simply using his platform to his advantage, something which every single one of us would do if we were in his position, and we all know it.

As an American, I've never though of Thogden in such a negative way. I did not even know that people viewed him in such a negative light. This is so sad as I grew up watching this guy and got me into watching the EPL Championship and League One. Here in the US, there is no football atmosphere like there is in Europe, and he allowed me to see how it felt to be a fan sitting in that stage. I personally never found him annoying. He's a young lad and that's his personality. I simply think that many are jealous of his growth as a RUclipsr and it's sad how much hate this guy is getting because he really inspired me to start RUclips and do what I love.

I work 12 hours a day myself in a Hospital and I know Thogden is living the dream but I still respect his work rate because he still puts in insane amount of hours to keep the dream alive. I can't hate him for that cause I would do exactly the same thing in his shoes. I think people don't realise that comparison is the thief of joy. Just compare yourself to who you were yesterday and make improvements where you can. It's not easy but nothing good comes easy.

As someone who watches footy content on youtube daily, I never had an issue with Thogden. Never followed him or his channels but when he would appear on other channels (Mark Goldbridge, Ben Foster, Etc.) I thought a dad son duo on youtube was nice and wholesome for a change
I see him as a guy just enjoying watching a sport he loves with his dad. Him and his Dad have a special bond and its honestly why i enjoy his content so much

I'm an American who follows European football, mostly EPL and UCL. I watch his videos to get the scoop on the weeks matches that no one else around me cares about. I didn't realize he was hated. I'm pushing 40 years old and can't imagine hating a kid who has passion. I just love watching a younger person with passion and excitement talk about what he loves with his dad. There are a lot of reasons to hate an aspect of football: streaming rights, human rights violations, corruption, money, etc, and a kid who grinded his own way through that with passion isn't one to hate. Then again, I'm not exactly over saturated with football content, I get the amount I need/want. So maybe if I was British this would be different, but I wouldn't turn hateful, just annoyed with the companies who seem to push it.

I have mixed opinions about Thogden. His videos are nice, I like them, but he sometimes acts like he knows everything. The hate on him is awful, he doesn't deserve it. He is having fun, and he deserves it. He blew up on yt, gets paid I believe quite nicely, so why can't he just have fun with the money? He sometimes makes mistakes, but who doesn't? Humans aren't perfect, but at least they learn to not make the same mistake again. I don't know him personally, but he seems like a nice bloke.

I don’t hate him, I just don’t believe he should be in the position he’s in. He doesn’t know enough about football to be on sky sports, for example. It’s not about lack of involvement, you don’t have to be part of the game for 30+ years to know about it. He doesn’t have a “footballing brain”, and that’s fine, just don’t talk about it on paid tv.

Having done you tubing in the past, it's difficult and hard work and all credit to him for succeeding with subscribers etc. I'm 23 and in my honest opinion he isn't humble or down to earth. I loved his early stuff at Bolton games but as he got more publicity I feel he changed. One time when he was on Saturday social he kept butting in when someone was speaking because he didn't agree with her opinion. She hardly got a word in because of it and I lost any little respect I had then. If he was less arrogant and actually listened to others a bit more I think he could be great. Videos like yours are great, a story, you mean what you say and are personable. The mario balotelli video a good example. If he changes his way slightly, he could become a goat in vlogging but I think if it doesn't change soon, that'll go
I respect what Thogden does and the success he has, he just comes off as a bit of a show-off, the tone he speaks in mostly sounds like he's bragging. He also tends to think his football opinions are genuine fact that should never be doubted, and always tends to call out other youtubers when they get stuff wrong eg. Rory Jennings. All the excess hate is unnecessary tho.

Personally I have no issues with Thogden and enjoy his videos. I find them interesting, informative (especially if I’m planning on visiting that ground/ team) and I was impressed with his fairly accurate WC predictions; sorry Messi fan here 🐐🇦🇷😂❤️

Years ago, a guy sat right in front of me died of a heart attack during the game. Match wasn’t stopped, and only knew h died cos he went with his brother who also had season tickets so we’re always in the same seats, and overheard him say he died with that seat being empty the rest of the season. I was only 15/16.
My only real problem with him is simply that he feels so sanitised and corporate and yet wants to act like just another regular football fan. You can't be living off mad sponsorship deals and constant media appearances and at the same time pretend you're just a regular fan. He should honestly at this point be treated in the same way media pundits are. Sure, they may be fans of football but there's still an obvious gap between, say, a regular Liverpool supporter and Jamie Carragher, or a regular United supporter and Gary Neville. Basically, Thogden can't have his cake and eat it. He can't be a massive media personality and still pretend to just be one of the lads at the same time.

I think part of the reason people hate on Thogden is that, NO ONE CAN ACTUALLY TELL WHY HE'S SO POPULAR!!. Like that dude is everywhere, in everything and a lot of people(myself included) feel he doesn't have the expertise or even the entertainment value to be in these places, there are LOTS of RUclipsrs and Influencers who deserve to be on places like Talksport and BBC before Thogden. so idk what he's done to get so much mainstream notoriety but when I see him in one of those chairs beside proper pundits I just can't help but think that someone else should be in that spot who would do the 'content creators' justice. Thogden and his ignorant takes just make it seem like RUclipsrs don't know jackshit about football.
