Dilla has obviously had a big influence on this guy, you can hear it in the drums especially. Cheers to that, though, I'm inclined to feel sorry for anybody J-Dilla hasn't influenced. Daps to Flying Lotus and a thank you to your legendary jazz relatives. Soul music seems to swim in schools in your gene pool. Peace.
This song has more sadness to me than peace. Rest easy and I listened to this a bunch after my father died and it gave me a different meaning after. Rip to all those who have passed
years have past, Flying Lotus is now a well deserved very popular artist. a young producer looking for samples stumbles upon this hidden gem, life is good. RIP J Dilla 🙏
who cares if it's live or not? good music is simply that, good music. it's not as if people aren't playing live music anymore. we're not losing an art, we're gaining another.
Brireif - you truly complimented this beat. Tapped into it. Understood it, even. Cause I speak ya poems over it and it's really like the beat is speaking. That's the beauty of the art, the quintessence of it: to add type A music to type B music and create a whole new type of hybrid music - but one that sounds natural like it was created as one unit. the gratitude looks good on me.
@ncshuriken he's been doing it for about a decade, hence the Flying Lotus Decade mix that came out and he's only 27 so he grew up listening to 90s hip hop, I'll take this any day over the tens of thousands of trap beats and snare repeat 808 kit tracks. BTW it's funny he sampled Alice Coltrane's Alice Coltrane - Turiya his great aunt on this one, but it wasn't until Cosmogramma that he could do the tribute he really wanted to do.
Flylo, Nuja & Dilla are the pioneers, but don't forget to pay homage to their inspirations,Pete rock,dj premier, large professor,Lord finesse and many more 💜💙💜
I never said anything about a talented musician... I said creative genius... which IS a talent. That said, there are musicians who play real instruments, write music and still create music by sampling. My point is, it takes a certain kind of talent to be able to put together random sounds, samples etc., and make it into something new and unique. And believe it or not, I agree with you about how music is 'regressing' but perhaps it needs to be looked at as just one evolution of musicmaking...
@AgentCarter Music is alive and polymorphic. It cannot be contained within one idealism or mode of expression. It is an archetypal and numinous non-isolate. It evolves and transmutes; inverts and bends. You wouldn't say that your arm is not an arm because it includes parts that are shaped nothing like one another. every different expression of flesh on your arm allows you to reach places and grasp things in ways you could not, were it not for the differences inherant in the ONE arm. music IS.
love respons so softly and kind embracing me with Avatar. I smile back and realize that am a big star. profound, prolific got my angle and its artistic wanna punch holes in the walls but it's only cause my anger is alive.....
@ncshuriken Damn, FIVE years? When did this guy first start making tunes, was he around in the 90's when hip-hop was hip-hop, and there was more than just a select group of people making the BIG tunes, while every1 else just makes fillers and rips eachother off (like it is these days).
@Latthefuzz He's from kentucky. Exposure to different forms of music in kentucky is minimal. It's all guitar and traditional instrumentation. He doesn't even know what its like to be in a multicultural environment influenced by different forms of musical expression. he's a more intelligent person than most in kentucky, judging from the complexity of his arguments. However in kentucky that is not saying alot. In all his banter he misses the entire point that people are trying to make. just enjoy
just use the yout tube converters that r lying around on the iternet i mean it might loose a little bit of quality but i mean just for this on song lol i mean im just saying
@sweete235 i wish there were more girls i knew wit a great taste in hip hop now they all listen 2 lil wayne soulja boy commercial pop shit nd its disgustin but keep doin ur thing! =]
@AgentCarter Also, have you listen to more of his albums? If you know so much about music, how do you just define a producer that way? (just by saying he's not a true musician because of its lacks of instruments in the specific tracks?) Try listening to Los Angeles and 1983. Personally, I do not really like July Heat either because it gave me this impression that this album did not really express Flying Lotus correctly. Excuse my grammar, i'm not a native speaker that's why.
@sconway11 Doesn't even know the actuality of the mindset and frame of consciousness that allows you to appreciate music in all of its forms. Music is a subjective defintion of air molecules vibrating in rythmic tonality and harmonic sequence as defined by parameters of pleasure. Anything and everything is music. Creativity is creativity appraisal is subjective and doesn't apply except within your own mind, who's opinions don't have any relevance to anything... so drop the argument?
bang this out like it’s coffee and fuckin time other minds collide and find reason in the shine of the light that dons upon all of our problems in the winter autumn spring summer dedicate to donna the one from whom i lost a home where i could rest up in none other than the great place the bay, where 8 hours of beauty sleep is all it takes to feel awake and everyone, riches or rags is shielded from fate pre gentrified at least, this shits a weird dichotomy so mind my honesty fore i shout, you’ll find out some way or another
Carter...Dude unless your a producer and actually know about sampling then just keep the negativity. The bottom line is that Flying Lotus has more creativity than you do in a musical sense. Plus he gets paid. so just enjoy this bumpin song.
ima spit this verse, put ya in a curse, better yet put ya in a hearse, I dont give a fuck what ya said, ima lay ya down in ya motha fuckin death bed, Im a sleezy one, Always got a hundred of them trying to get at me, idk why but it just the way it be, you come round me ya gonna smoke weed.
@AgentCarter what's wrong with cutting and pasting? Isn't SOUNDING GOOD consider as good music rather than TECHNICAL ISSUES? I mean come on, you can learn many instruments and all the shit to make music but that doesn't mean you are simply going to make GOOD SOUNDING music just because you know how to play them. Don't judge music with like that, you are just simply creating your own standard.
Dilla has obviously had a big influence on this guy, you can hear it in the drums especially. Cheers to that, though, I'm inclined to feel sorry for anybody J-Dilla hasn't influenced. this man did Lo-fi Hip hop in 2005
Flylo, Nuja & Dilla are the pioneers, but don't forget to pay homage to their inspirations,Pete rock,dj premier, large professor,Lord finesse and many more 💜💙💜
I miss the days where any instrumental underground hip-hop doesn't get hit with the fucking "lo-fi hip-hop" description.
@ayyy__donkey and Q tip back in 1991 haha
@@47fortyseven47 so do I , so do I...
doesnt matter how it was conceived, as long as it sounds good and keeps you coming back.. the musician was successful.
