( I have made few edits to this preset, I turned off both LiftGammaGain and Colourfulness and I turned on LumaSharpen )

I used to build homes like that but then I had no reason to have my sims leave the house and life got pretty boring...
this gave me all the parent trap vibes: with the young mom, the wine seller, the butler...
omg I didn't even think about that lol that's crazy
Beatrice Thomas simlicy said it many times that it was inspired by the parent trap
For the story I feel like you should make it so that the father is still upset and hung up on his passed ex wife and he kind of rushed into his marriage with his current wife to try and fill a hole. I feel that'd be a really interesting story line
I think his remarriage to the self-absorbed stepmom makes a lot of sense if the wife died. He needed a wife for his political image, and she LOOKS good, so it works for his career and he just doesn't care about the personal relationship aspect because he's not really over his wife's death and is just focusing on his career to cope.
I love this build!

I love the idea of having pre teens in the game, I feel like it would make the game a lot more realistic and would add a lot more depth into sims lives if they went through the pre teen stage

This build is absolutely gorgeous!! Colonial homes are one of my all time favorites and I love that this home doesn't look too boxy or plain! The amount of detail you always manage to add is amazing!
You should do a blended family. Cheaper by the dozen style, lots of kids of different ages from each parents previous marriage

i enjoy watching these kind of videos because they give me ideas on what to do with my own sims and their houses. i’m planning on making a family of witches. three kids (twins and a teen), a granddad and grandmom (i’m not sure who’s parents yet), and the mom and dad. i haven’t worked out the story yet so i’m watching videos like these to get some inspiration

I would imagine that the children's nanny really cared for them and for the dad as well, knowing them for so long, and maybe he didn't realize that she had feelings for him. But probably the stepmother noticed it and didn't like her at all. Parent Trap, yup xD

I just randomly thought of this as you were explaining the backstory. Maybe the older sibling, since the family is clearly wealthy and seems Old Money-ish, wants to go to Foxbury but his father is a Britechester alum and expects his children to go there because it's family tradition or something. So the father and son are kind of on the outs as he tries to convince the son (or daughter, if you change it) to go to Britechester.
SO BEAUTIFUL!! love these colors and when you were checking things at eye level i totally felt like i was in an actual fancy home!! so realistic and lovely

Yess I wish we would get get preteens in the game! The jump from kids to teens is too drastic and teens and young adults look exactly the same. At least the teens were shorter/had a different build than YAs in the Sims3, I wish they would do a similar thing in TS4!

I noticed when you put items on top of each other (like the landing table), there's no clipping. Is that because it's sped up, or do you have a mod?.
Whoa! Is that monsters plant in the debug menu? The one in the kitchen merged with that pot?
I think every now and then you should leave some rooms blank so the people downloading the house can add personalities later own. Like for example the teen room, it will be more meaningful when the sim completes science projects and then have it as a decoration instead of having it as a clutter from the start when they move to the house. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I personally delete all the clutter from the rooms and then with time I add clutter that symbolizes my Sims personality.
It would be spicy if the wife had an affair with the butler. Lovely build.
Question @simlicy ~ Why a bathtub in the bathroom across from the library/entertainments room? Like why?
The dad could like say to People that she's died of cancer, but really she's didnt. I was thinking maybe she was a addic or bipolar or something.😊

I always thought it was just in my game but the indoor plants from jungle adventure go dark when they are sized down or placed to close to wall. I want them to fix it soooo bad because they are some of the nicest plants we have in the game.
