I usually use just soapy water and a microfiber but that's assuming that my starting point is a relatively clean car...if not, I'd recommend doing a pressure wash first. If you have any treatments like wax, ceramic they may need to be removed first otherwise PPF (tinted PPF is the same in that regard) won't stick. And also if you have tiny dust particles etc (when you run your fingers over the surface it feels scratchy) then you may need to do some clay bar treatment too. But in most cases, a simple wash so that the area is clean is enough :)
