@ExiL0n I have pondered your comment and decided that there probably are several mascot characters for DOS, with none of them being as dominant IPs as Sonic or Mario.
Oh, this music.. reminds me of good old times when I was just a kiddo. So much nostalgia flows with this song.. maybe because this was the first level I ever played on my first ever PC game on my first ever PC.
I have never played this game in my life but the music is making me feel as if I have. It has a strong nostalgic feel to it. Probably the pan flutes but damn, it took me out of someone's video. I had to come find it. I love this 90s/00s computer game sound and when I describe it no one knows what i'm talking about.
This game defined my childhood - we only had a Commodore 64 and a PC, no games consoles. Dad said they were better, until recently I've agreed with him. Fantastic music for the whole franchise. :)
Vadam ZZ same here, this was such a large part of my childhood and memories :d those tunes are burned into my brain (this, commander keen, rayman, Ut99 and so much more!)
I remember when i was a child my father had a CD named "Mega Games" and i looooved to play Jazz always, but i didn't realized that there was another levels until i grew up ... but always loved the soundtrack of Diamondus and Tubelectric
‘Epic MegaGames’ (now called ‘Epic Games’) was the name of the dev studio that made this game among other great games. Apogee games during this era were also very fun.
I used to go visit my dad for two weeks every summer in the 90's and early 2000's, and I remember he had a demo disc for _Jazz Jackrabbit_ on his computer that had the first world. I must have played through the demo about 50 times over a few years, so this music will always be drilled into my brain.
at least someone who splittet the soundtrack into induvidual songs. Man I hate those hour long videos with all the songs in them. It is so inconviniernt so huge thanks to you Mothrayas
It's surprising to see not that many comments from the Netherlands considering that's where this game was originally conceived in. Then again, considering the population numbers, it IS more well known in the US in that regard.
Wow, I had no idea it's the same composer as Tyrian! Tyrian and JJR are a huge part of my childhood, I'm glad they have the incredible music in common.
***** No, completely different developer. The guy, Argan Brusse was a PC demo scene coder - he did "borrow" a lot of ideas from Sonic, and even left some references to it in the game...
A question. I saw walkthrough of JJ1 and the music is different than this one and the other ost. Why? For example, i didnt listen the flute and other instruments.
If Sega had Sonic, Nintendo had Mario, then Jazz was the mascot of MS DOS gaming
its from EPIC (back days named EPIC MEGA GAMES) now is the fortnite creator ;D
I think that spot is for Commander Keen. But Jazz is still a close second!

King Graham:
@@OswaldKarnoffel1 Oh how far they have fallen :(
1994. Got a Gravis Joystick for Christmas. This game was on the demo CD and blew my mind.
Mister RON! Gravis 😩 the nostalgia.
Welcome to Diamondus. Jazz Jackrabbit's answer to Green Hill Zone
Ironically, that's close to the name of the most valuable resource on Mobius from the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon, Diamondius.
Damn, back in the day you used to find better music on video games than you do now in the radio.
jorge ayon Still one of my all time favorite video game trax
true when justin beiber's music is considered the best ever today
Master, How does one achieve the state of being "in" the radio?
What is "Radio"? Is it a flash game about uranium?
The best music is not on the radio
~A quote from Frank Zappa
I always use this as the placeholder music when I work on games :P It just seems to fit with everything lol
Rock that pan flute!
Edit: apparently it's a Danso. To be fair I don't know a lot about music, just let me vibe with the music!
+BladeBlurX Yeah baby!!!!!
Lmao DRUM SOLO!
This sounds a lot more Amiga
that isn't a pan flute...
it's a danso...
Diamonuds looks a lot like the Earth
+Likeaboss Isaboss Except a lot more diamonds. And blue dirt.
Robert Allen ! one of my favorite tracker composer. Epic Pinball - Jill of the Jungle Jazz Jackrabbit. he did them all masterfully.
ups :D He was inspired by Jill of the Jungles composer you can clearly hear the influence... still awesome though.

Such good feels! Perfect to work to while arranging pixel art.

i like that they play together the whole song.
Best game of my childhood, hands down.
Jesus christ what a banger
NOSTALGIA OVERLOAD!
This music brings back so many awesome gaming memories as a child! Love love love this music! :D

Here it is!!
MARIO...SONIC....Eat your heart out!
So good, this makes you feel great.
Ahh, the nostalgia!
I was actually surprised this wasn't Carrotus! That planet is talked all over in the intro, and yet we never even step on it!
at least someone who splittet the soundtrack into induvidual songs. Man I hate those hour long videos with all the songs in them. It is so inconviniernt so huge thanks to you Mothrayas
How this game mamaged to run on an old ass Packard bell PC that didn't even have SoundBlaster is beyond me!
Probably my favourite tune of the game :-)
Best one for me was Rainforus
i used to pump this on pause in the demo version on my soundblaster 16

Nostalgia
Ooooh! Altitude Sickness! Hoverboards #@%&!
Dope! Or should I say DOS! lol love this beat
this game + gravis gamepad = pure goodness
Great OST..
The composer did OST for Tyrian too.. is the same one..
Wow, I had no idea it's the same composer as Tyrian! Tyrian and JJR are a huge part of my childhood, I'm glad they have the incredible music in common.
Infradead yeah... they are great ! :)
Omg I had no idea! Thanks for the info!
the rabbit is faster than sonic !
***** i think the same... there are many coincidences between both..
***** No, completely different developer. The guy, Argan Brusse was a PC demo scene coder - he did "borrow" a lot of ideas from Sonic, and even left some references to it in the game...
3d bonus gameplay, red super jumping ramps, speed-up tennis, super power stars rounding the rabbit,.... what else my friend?
The bossfight in a certain episode ;-)
Gotta go fast!
Thanks! And uhh.. who's cutting onions here? My eyes are all teary.
rock that denzo!
I just got my eight year old nephew to play this game earlier :D
Love the beat in this world :-)
imagine being a computer addict disguised as a naturalist.
that is what i am.
^ This is fire.
JAZZ JACKRABBIT 1 AND 2 ARE NOW ON GOG.COM
Feels a bit like if "The Hustle" had a pan flute.
For the OG P.C. gamer
MONTHRAYAS I LOOOOVE YOOOOU XD
Makes me think of Donkey Kong Country 2.
It always sounded to me a bit like "New radicals - You get what you give" intro. lol
Bouncey as holy hell
This make me picture Baloo from the jungle book...
Why do the graphics look like they were taken from Hill Top Zone?
what's danso?
nightmare ⛽️
Yum
Unreal Engine's GrandPa...
This one will be forever stuck in my head, especially since I sucked at it and repeated the levels often lmao
AAAHHH NOSTALGIA IS RUINING MY WET EYES
💎
Eggers ?
what is a tanso?
A question. I saw walkthrough of JJ1 and the music is different than this one and the other ost. Why? For example, i didnt listen the flute and other instruments.
I wonder the same. It's not just Diamondus, nearly every level has a problem with the music in the walkthrough.
From anecdotal evidence ,something went wrong with the soundtrack for the CD version; I guess the floppy disc port has the songs intact.
Same here! :')
🪨 🎸 🤘 🥌 that danso!
❤🔥
very "tubey"!!!!!!!!!
World 1: Earth
YAMA
Rabbits Stink
I like 👍 dansos.😊
AAAAAAAAAWWWWW YUSSSSSSS
