Lenny and Curtis were really good to each other. Green and Logan were fantastic partners, but Curtis was something else. He felt like a younger Lenny, one that was with the times yet still able to match his wit and intellect.
If you look at the “email” from the guy, the cursor is flashing at the end of the message, meaning they flat-out typed it on the screen and just showed that rather than actually sending an email. Gotta love it.
Unless the writers took a holiday, the defense attorney probably tried to have this thrown out using the 4th amendment. Unfortunately, the courts tend to see it this way: The data he transmits is in the public, so it's like yelling "Yo stupid cops! Come and get me! I'll kill again!" in a crowded theater.
This is Briscoe and Curtis's second episode together! I remember seeing the first episode this season when they were introduced, except it was a rerun and I didn't realize until the end that they hadn't worked together before. I was so upset to see them not getting along lol
One of L&O's very bad overdub/sync jobs. They knew it was gonna be syndicated forever at this point lol no idea why they did some real hatchet jobs like that.
Of all the "Law & Order" episodes, this one seems the most far fetched. Did ANY case involving cyber-crime during the 90s ever get solved using that weird device the tech guy was using? What even is a "Yagee?"
Yagee antenna is a directional Antenna. Not sure about Using it exactly as seen in this episode, but I saw one used to track down a CB Radio user who was harrassing people. 4 people tracked him down to his house.
Back in the MODEM era, the Internet connection was set up by phone lines. If that is a landline, it can be tracked with the help of the phone exchange. This guy tried to play smart, so he used a device called 'cellular phone', which allows to connect remotely with radio signals. In this era cell phone signals can be tracked using the signal tower. Because the signals hit multiple towers you can just triangulate the location. Back in the day there were not a lot of towers so they had to use an mobile antenna to triangulate.
“This email…whatever it is…has got to have a return address”
Shows the generation difference between both of them
The IP address is basically what he meant without knowing it
Considering it's clearly not an email and is actually a word file, it probably doesn't. lol
Heys DFK 😮

God I love how much of an oldhead Lenny is when it comes to technology. If he saw what was around today MAN his head would be so twisted
I totally agree!
In his last episode he was shaking his head at blackberrys
Imagine if he was here today and could see Twitter
@@mightyt-rex3537 "he lost how many billions?!!"
Orbach was an amazing and talented actor. he'd have found an amazing way to portray Lenny's confusion of it all. rest in peace Orbach.

How perfectly well observed!!
I love how the "email" at 3:35 is clearly just someone who typed something in a text processor.
They didn't even TRY to make it look legit hahaha
Nah they just invented shared documents to do this episode
I always thought this was hilarious too. All the "messaging" is just on friggin NotePad/WordPad lmao.
came down to see if anyone would point that out.
It was the 90s, nobody to overanalyze everything and then post about it social media like they do today
Alec Mapa with a giant antenna is pure camp
"Guess we're here."
"SQUEAL"
"Is that a rat??"
I love this show's dialogue so much.
I wonder what proportion of the audience knew he was emailing in a word processor.
It is the same number of people who knew that Kelly Rowland texted on Microsoft Excel in her video 😅
@@heynorty013 Link please.
@@heynorty013 That's fantastic. Someone should make a compilation video of these.
I email and text from my macbook.

Biscoe: "Well, you get the YAGI; I'll get the donuts."
Good ol' Lenny, never forgets the important stuff.
Good episode, Lenny and Curtis partners for the first time, Curtis gains his respect

not to mention its quite literally on a word processor app lol
“well you get the yagi, i’ll get the donuts”
3:50 An internet provider called "Netfix".
Maybe Reed Hastings got the name Netflix from watching this L&O episode?

There is no privacy in a radio signal - only the signal's contents and only if those contents are legally protected.
Jerry Orbach did the best detective role in all of the series.
*Adam?* Actually working? Not absolutely roasting his co workers. I can’t take him seriously at ALL. I love it!
“Is that a rat!?!”
“Yes it is”
"We can triangulate the signal"
Brings one antenna
So nice to see Mr Alec Mapa whose improv work I'd enjoy here in San Francisco.
He'd ask why every teen has the world's knowledge in their pocket but they dont use any of it.
Episode where Rey stands up some bikers and shocks Lenny
Best Team in law and order.. best Episodes ..
That aerial….jeez…did they take it off a roof? 😂
I literally burst out laughing when I saw it. It was so ridiculously huge😂😂
