Specifically for the date change: One PanditJi (Old aged) once told me that it does not matter what the date and time is if it is pitch black dark (Let's assume a baby is born on 30th 12:15(am) (According to Western it's considered 31st but according to Hindu tithi if it's still dark (meaning next day sun has not risen yet) it is considered as 30th.... This might have been wrong but many Pandits and Jotishi's have told me the same thing. (Anybody who has a more clear explanation please do share your experiences)
