    Because you choose relatively simple subjects and make it all look so easy I'm not sure people realize how exceptional a painter you are.

    I love your style of drawing and I'm learning so much about mixing colours Chris, thank you! I did this one today and am going to try and use what I've learnt on one of my own now.

    You are my very favorite watercolor painter (save, of course, Winslow Homer and John Singer Sargent). Every time I follow one of your tutorials I end up with things that other people rave about.
    Thank you for your fun and loose way of painting. It may be "fun and loose" but not just anyone can do it.

      Liz, please type in the phrase Chris Petri "My Pallete" and Chris Petri "How to use a Pallete" These videos detail the colors I paint with and key ideas when it comes to color use in painting.

      I think I painted this from a Charles Reid Study book actually. I can tell by the white vase.

    I have learnt so many things about watercolor watching your videos...!! Each time I´m about to paint I start drawing things I have near, my paintbrush is a must! Yet...I still follow you step by step but when I try to do my own painting...things go wrong and I don´t understand why. Anyway I know I´m improving with the practice. A question: when you sparkle the paint you get a nice effect...when I do some drops are too big, sometimes they fall in the wrong place...do you have control over those drops?

    • @cpetri766
      @cpetri766  6 лет назад

      Hi Carol, on my next video I will cover the splashing an spattering technique. Its one of my favorite techniques!

    Did you study under Charles Reid?

    • @cpetri766
      @cpetri766  6 лет назад +3

      Hi Jan, thanks for watching! Yes, I have been studying Charles Reid work for about 7 years now, I started off intensely studying all of his books and DVD's. Then I began attending his week long Watercolor Workshops that he conducts predominantly in the USA and Europe. Thanks again for watching and hope your painting goes well for you always. Happy Painting!

    • @cpetri766
      @cpetri766  6 лет назад +1

      I meant to ask you if you like Charles Reid's work a lot? He may have some openings in his Workshops over the next 6-12 months. I believe he is retiring from Workshops and teaching soon. He has been teaching for approximately 50 years!

    • @jandean9268
      @jandean9268 6 лет назад +1

      I admire his work tremendously, but I’m in the UK and am unlikely to be able to attend a workshop. Thank you for the information though. It was very kind of you to pass it on.
