I know it's GREAT for people who are lockdown/restricted, but I live in Fla, can go outside, can go fishing, swimming, etc, and it's hard to keep up with them... 😢 No, Really, they Are GREAT! THANKS GUYS, YOU AND ANDREW! 👍😊🎣😎👍
Get a bucket to store your hooks and leader lines in. Take the line out and drop it where you want. Go back to the beginning of the the line attach and bait your hooks as you go. Also if you use the bucket make sure your line is no longer than the depth of the bucket. It stops the lines from becoming a knotted up mess
lojo people like you bc you are an actual genuine person and you show the mistakes you make you make other fisherman feel normal and not like they aren’t the only one that backlashes and loses fish and snag stuff
when i was younger and a commercial fisherman, we would tie each and of the trot lines to trees with a float in the middle to maintain certain depth, alot easier and safer to check lines from a boat
I’ve always had luck rolling the line on a pool noodle. Tie it to a strong limb, post or pvc pipe hammered into the ground and start baiting one hook at a time and dropping them in as you go. Start with whatever you tied it to and roll it all up on the noodle when you are finished. Helps keep it from getting tangled. Love the videos man. Tight lines!
Definitely suggest placing the line first then kayaking down it placing each leader and bait one at a time then you just immediately drop them in the water till you reach the end. Much easy and safer method
I’m having enough issues just getting a steady flow of catches on a rod n reel! I love watching these different methods and you guys trying all kinds of different tools! Thanks for the vids
You need a bucket, to hold the rope in it an then you hang all the clips an hooks on the edge of the bucket. You run the main line out an drop it, then go back to the begging an then attach all the clips an hooks onto the line as you paddle out, baiting them as you go. Much easier to do with a lil Jon boat than the kayak but I’m sure you guys will figure it out !! Good luck boys!!
LOJO man, coming from NYC where i saw so many people around me struggle with the virus, I really appreciate you doing the right thing and setting a good example by wearing a mask in Wal Mart. You probably won't see this but just wanted to say thank you
I glued 1” pvc pipes (as long as the bucket is tall) into a 5 gallon bucket to form a ring. You then put your drop lines into the pvc pipe pieces, then coil your trot line into the bottom of the bucket. As you paddle across the water you attach the drop lines to the trot line and bait the hooks.
Love the video Lojo. My grandpa had bank poles out, it's kind of the same thing. Would like to see more trout lining vide's. The bait you had looked good, you should try using live bluegill's or bullhead's for bait if your going after catfish. You try putting the line in a river and see what happens. You should do a catch, clean, and cook with a snapping turtle. Keep the videos coming bud.
When I fished for carp and used luncheon meat, I'd cube it up, push the hook through then use a short length of stiff grass slid underneath the cube base and pull the hook back up. It stops the bait flying off the hook when you cast it out.
When you asked what to tie the line to I couldn’t help cracking up...pvc pipe...a stick hahaha I’m from a brackish saltwater environment. We just used a rope and hand tied chicken necks. Each end we attached to jugs..like milk jugs...the jugs have to have your boat info on them but if your bank fishing a good branch will do I guess. Also we kept the meat in a barrel of salt before throwing in...messy but well worth all the hard work.
Yeah my grandpa and his friends ran trout lines all over Oklahoma lakes and rivers. Go out Friday cast net some baitfish and run them Saturday and Sunday. Caught allot of monsters that way.
Future advice get all your hooks baited. Then unroll the line in the water as you go down the line clip them on till you get to the end I recommend using a bigger weight next time.
Believe it's called hand lining. Great video, I fish pan fish, catfish and now more into bass fishing but crappie and catfishing what I grew up doing. Love your videos!
go cast netting for bait for the trot. also better hooks. circle for sure. keep killin it lojo! love seeing you in the yak reminds me of the good old days. miss the yak pond vids!
Dough bait, punch bait, etc dissolves off easily, if you use solids you’ll be golden. If there are gar then do NOT use dead fish, they will strip every single hook. Use live bait preferably or if not possible something like chicken. For a pond the easiest thing to do is to tie both ends off like on the dock and to a tree, you can tie on extra rope to one end if needed, you can go across a corner of a pond or add extra line and go across the middle. Rebar steaks in the ground are a good second to a tree, post, etc if nothing is there. Keep at it, it gets easier the more you do it!
Caught an absolute tank of a snapping turtle a few weeks back on a Googan Krackin Kraw. Thank goodness he came off the hook without me having to mess with him
Stake the anchor point end to the bank, bait all your hooks, tie the other end to a bottle rocket stick and launch it through a pvc pipe like a mortar! Dunno if it'd work but it'd look fracking awesome! 😂
LOJO, the lines are normally run between two stumps, with a weight in the middle or a couple of weights. then you run it from one end to the other. this is safer than pulling it in by hand. Good luck.
You tie the ends to two stationary points then bait all hooks get in boat sliding down it putting on one hook at a time. Makes it easier putting the hooks in a five gallon bucket with the clips hanging on outside of the bucket
Haven’t you guys heard the term, running the trot line, it’s cuz you check it/harvest the fish from the boat, not pulling it in from the dock lol. Nice try though boys
You need the treble hooks w bait springs on them or small pieces of cheesecloth, wrap balit onto hook, Wrap bait w cheesecloth and secure / Tie bundle on hookshank w short piece of mono.
so i know this video is a bit old, but if you guys ever decide to redo it, you could try sticking all the hooks in a pool noodle, having the bait in the boat with you then you take out a hook clip it to the line and bait it and drop it in. tie off the first part, then just go, hope that makes sense. I have never done this myself but i have seen it done that way
What did I do wrong??
LOJO use hotdogs for bait the bait won’t fall of
When we use to do it in rivers we leave it over night.
Mostly because catfish are more nocturnal
coop john hot dogs fall of easy
Hooks on as you go on the water
anyone else like it how much LOJO has been uploading?
Yes,why he does,nt like...wazzup with that? This one was a great vid...real,a train wreck basically...funny.
I know it's GREAT for people who are lockdown/restricted, but I live in Fla, can go outside, can go fishing, swimming, etc, and it's hard to keep up with them... 😢 No, Really, they Are GREAT! THANKS GUYS, YOU AND ANDREW! 👍😊🎣😎👍
I like that you like it
I really enjoy how much LOJO uploads now!
@@lojofishing I’m sorry there is just toooooooooo much click bait
It's generally easier to connect the clips as you put the line out keeps the hooks from hooking up to each other and hooking yourself lol.
This ☝️
I came here to say this.
Brilliance
thanks
I just said the same thing but my comment was a book
Get a bucket to store your hooks and leader lines in. Take the line out and drop it where you want. Go back to the beginning of the the line attach and bait your hooks as you go. Trotlining is the new tiktoking
For every one that sees this God bless you and have a great day.
You too Rebecca nice of you to write that
Thank you. I needed that. You too Rebecca. Bless you

You need to have your main line with no clips to start. As you pull out the main line, clip on the bait rigs one at a time.
That's what I was thinking.
EXACTY
also take the clips off as u pull the line in
And to keep the hooks and lines just hang them on the inside of a bucket
My grandpa and his buddy’s ran mile long trot lines down the rivers
dang
Southern Ohio Fishing I thought the same thing but a lot of people actually did that and longer ones lol 😂 it was how they made their living
Get that shit in your propeller lol
@@DrakesLandingHunting That makes sense

AYO'sm the best cameraman dude. he brings so much to the channel that other tubers just dont get.

You’re reactions to the smells are cracking me up!!! 😂😂😂
Definitely suggest placing the line first then kayaking down it placing each leader and bait one at a time then you just immediately drop them in the water till you reach the end. Much easy and safer method
Haven’t finished it but already know it’s gonna be entertaining. LOJO you a boss
Andrew's commentary is the best
Larry and I just ran into a bunch of trot lines last weekend, they just be getting popular
Trot lines have always been popular where I grew up.... But they suck to snag when bank fishing with brand new crank baits.....
Who’s larry
People getting desperate for some cheap food.
ahhhh
Quality content as usual🤒🔥
Anyone notice at 25:56 Lojos voice and the catfishes mouth sync up perfectly 🤣
Watching Lojo pulling in that turtle as I just got a baby version. Out here fishing with the family.
“Ive snaked my snake” -Famous words of LOJO 😂

LOJO lol
It's funny when people just stare at him while filming 😂😂
I know right
“That’s because I don’t know what I’m talking about, or what I’m doing” 😂😂😂 gotta love Uncle LoJo
You need to start it in the evening and let it sit all night and get it in the morning.

I’m having enough issues just getting a steady flow of catches on a rod n reel! I love watching these different methods and you guys trying all kinds of different tools! Thanks for the vids
Those catfish thingys ur suppose to mush it together an make dough balls like u do bread lol

Not gonna lie one of the best videos w/AYO you’ve made. HILARIOUS 😂

Bro you fit the Googan squad perfectly and are quickly becoming one of my go too channels. You need too set up a Googan squad Noodling challenge
You are my favorite bass fisherman
Heyyyy lojo can’t wait to get my new Googan rod
Gotta admit watching this was hilarious. How many times are you going to forget pliers? That was some fancy trot line rigging.
When I fished for carp and used luncheon meat, I'd cube it up, push the hook through then use a short length of stiff grass slid underneath the cube base and pull the hook back up. It stops the bait flying off the hook when you cast it out.

You are awesome man I love your channel as normal
Love watching this guy one of the best

I love how he is told to stop filming at Walmart and he keeps doing it🤣😂
My Grandfather used to use pieces of ivory soap as bait on the trot line, and he would use fishing line to cut the bars of soap into small pieces.
Love you Uncle Lojo! Keep getting out there. Love the content.
Yeah my grandpa and his friends ran trout lines all over Oklahoma lakes and rivers. Go out Friday cast net some baitfish and run them Saturday and Sunday. Caught allot of monsters that way.
Ayo and lojo are such awesome doods!

Not sure, but might be the first time I’ve seen lojo without sunglasses!
Omg. The turtle is great eating!
LOJO, keep the great content coming! Guys like you are the reason I started my fishing channel. Keep doin what you do!
When you like the video before even watching, because all you know he post is bangers!
When you bring it in unclip the hooks and put the hooks around the rim of your 5 gallon bucket, makes clean up a lot easyier.

An inspiration for all your brothers in arms
Man I’ve caught some massive catfish on a trot line .. this was a great idea
The gag was priceless 😂
Woooooo boy!! Did those smell good LOJO?
LOJO, the lines are normally run between two stumps, with a weight in the middle or a couple of weights. then you run it from one end to the other. this is safer than pulling it in by hand. Good luck.
Would def love to drop a line with LOJO!!
Yall need to run them across a river, that's where it gets interesting

Great video guys, entertaining and educational. The big lesson for me is, NEVER, EVER try to trotline.😝
Love your videos man always entertaining
You tie the ends to two stationary points then bait all hooks get in boat sliding down it putting on one hook at a time. Makes it easier putting the hooks in a five gallon bucket with the clips hanging on outside of the bucket
