    Thank you for your generosity, your stewardship of these wonderful owls, and for sharing this with all of us. I am especially grateful for your interventions-returning fallen owlets to the nest box, when it was appropriate. You are in my 🙏🏻💛

    Owls make the best parents I love watching these videos they are so beautiful so precious I like when the boxes have the little balcony so they can jump out of the box without falling and they can stand and look outside that box is my favorite but I certainly am glad that you help getting them boxes built so they have something for their family

    Egy biztos, hogy ezeket a lényeket ki kellett, hogy találja valaki, ahogyan az embert is. Csodálatosak!

    Thank you for giving us the opportunity to observe the life of these wonderful creatures. We were so worried about them, so used to them! Pieces of our hearts will stay with them forever! And thanks for this wonderful video. When I watch it, I can't hold back my tears. I would never have thought that little owls can cause so many emotions.

    Milyen okos madarak, hogy elfogadják az ember által készített fészket, belakják, költenek benne és a fiókákat is nevelik. Csak gratulálni tudok nekik!!!

    Thanks a lot for the Great Video! Will the owner Sándor consider to have also an extra ledge or little piece of platform so for the owl parents to land on right outside the box? Then maybe the owlets can jump out and stay a bit more instead of falling out? I saw he fixed already a ledge on the edge and the owls enjoying standing there already. Maybe 🤔 one more plank outside the nest box for them?

    i have a family of them by my window. can you tell me if it's normal for the owlets to cry constantly when night comes? i saw two of them who branched in the past couple of days. i live in the city so I'm not sure if mom can find food so easily. do they cry, get food, eat, and immediately cry again? I'm not sure if they need help or something, i can't tell when or if mom or dad brings them food. i did see at least one parent the other day

    úgy tudom a fiókák amikor elhagyják az odút amig nem tudnak repülni a fákon, az ágakon vannak el ill. ugrálgatnak. Lehet tudni hogy mi van velük?

    • @madarles
      @madarles  2 года назад +3

      Igen, a fiókák még nem röpképesek a láda elhagyásakor. Lehet/lehetett látni őket a környező fákon, de azért nagyon jól rejtőzködnek.

    I am surprised that the Long-eared Owl has easily adopted your nesting box. I had found on the web examples with a basket for this species but not yet with a wooden nesting box like yours. Could you please tell me if many medium-sized owls nest with this kind of nesting box?

      your movie is amazing, wonderfull job (y)

    • @madarles
      @madarles  Год назад

      I guess, that only Long-eared Owls accept these kind of boxes in Hungary, which were originally placed out for Common Kestrels or Red-footed Falcons.

    • @gilsmeets820
      @gilsmeets820 Год назад

      @@madarles how many nesting boxes work in hungary for this species (Long-eared Owl) please? Do you have any idea ? Or is this an exception ?

    • @madarles
      @madarles  Год назад

      @@gilsmeets820 I asked Sandor, the nesting box owner. He said that it happens regularly. Long-eared Owls breed in 4-11 of 300 boxes, depending on the year. If there are very few rodents, they do not start breeding. He heard of a case when Eurasian scops owl used this kind of box. In the woods a bit larger but same kind of boxes are often used by tawnies.
