Our economy struggling with uncertainties, housing issues, foreclosures, global fluctuations, and pandemic aftermath, causing instability. Rising inflation, sluggish growth, and trade disruptions need urgent attention from all sectors to restore stability and stimulate growth.

Ken, I worked 7 years in Germany. There is a big problem there with people not being motivated anymore because the government raises steadily the social security contributions and (green) taxes. At the same time it increased the unemployment benefits leading to less people accepting official jobs and just working off the books. This all adds up to the fact that after 60k Euros you pay the highest marginal tax rate of 42%. Data from 2018 show that a Medical resident before taxes in Germany earned more than a truck driver in the USA, but after taxes, the truck driver had more money. Big economic problems are already affecting Germany and it will only get worse. Why work more if the government just taxes all your hard work away?
Second this. Its borderline at the point where those that literally don't work at all get funded better lifestyles than those who work minimum wage jobs. I've been living in germany for 4 years, I'm originally from Australia. There's also a bit of an immigration issue for certain people. Which feels weird to say as an immigrant myself, but I was forced by the foreign office to pay almost €3500 out of pocket for a mandatory German integration course of 800 hours, I wasn't allowed to work full time until I completed that course, so earning money became an issue outside of having a mini-job and burning through my funds, it also costed a tonne of money to get all my documents translated and approved, and I was given a 3 year plan from the foreign office where I had to meet all conditions to be approved for extended (not permanent) residency. In those 3 years the integration course had to be finished and exams passed Minimum 1 year full time work And also stay married to my wife for 3 years. If I failed any of those 3 within the 3 years I wouldn't have met the conditions required to stay. But then I saw certain people in the same integration course I was in, at the most basic level of language learning, that had been living in Germany basically for free for 12 years, and didn't have to pay a cent for the course or have other conditions imposed on them. Don't get me wrong I wanted to do all that so I could be here with my wife but why make it so difficult for some that actually want to work and be there compared to others that obviously don't.
No, I don't think that is the issue. We're returning to a simpler time when everyone offered a service. In essence, we are all self-employed business owners who enjoy the flexibility that comes with it.
Some people think it’s going to completely reshape how we work and invest. With automation and AI taking over, certain industries might not even look the same in five years
It’s not just work, though. These shifts are going to affect everything-including the way we manage our money and investments. I’ve been thinking about how to adapt my portfolio to all this change
That's smart. If the economy shifts, so do the markets. I’ve actually been moving some of my investments around recently to make sure I’m not too exposed to industries that might be disrupted by AI and automation
With these big shifts, it’s important to have someone who knows what they’re doing, especially when it comes to portfolio management. You can’t just throw your money into random sectors and hope it works out
I agree. My advisor, Joseph Nick Cahill, has been really helpful in guiding me through these changes. He’s been in the game for over 20 years and has a solid approach to long-term investing. He doesn't just react to trends; he helps me think ahead
It seems to be way more people dont work 9-5 than 30 years ago. I drive a lot for my job and notice way more 20-30 years olds out and about around 10 am now. Use to be these aged people were either in school or working in the morning. But not so much anymore.
You know it. I give 72 hours of availability and work an average of 27 hours a week within that scope, so most days I'm off 2 times a week around 10am. Lol. Heading into work now at 5:45p to 12a.
Work from home, independent contractor gigs, self employment, trading, and night/overnight jobs like Amazon. We have way more ways to make income than the outdated 9-5 on-site job.
That is a luxury most people don’t have. I have good work/life balance and have solid but not great income. Although i don’t consider my blue collar job meaningful, I have solid job security, study paycheck, and earn enough to save for retirement. I’m not that materialistic but i’m thankful for what i got. That is enough for me to not risk going for a more fulfilling job that might not last long. Trying to have it all is the downfall for most people
Sadly that's the future. You will have to be a content creator. There are already people on TikTok making videos and wearing "resume sweatshirts", a sweatshirt with their resume printed on it, literally, and basically begging for jobs in the form of comedy sketches. It's already here.
I could see a major shift to this as company's don't want to pay any kind of benefits in the future. also, by doing this, they can hire people long enough to complete a contract, then cut you lose when it's over. This saves them a lot of money. Basically, you'll have to think of yourself as a "business" and always have multiple customers on the line ready to go. this is a radical departure from the way we were all taught to be "wage slaves".

Depends on the product. Many tech rich products takes years of research which requires the company to keep people around who have that tribal knowledge.
As somebody who has worked as contract labor, being in charge of your own networking and timing in-between jobs basically means you either stay mostly busy for a while but burn a lot of bridges, or miss opportunities due to current projects that'll end in two months. For years all I wanted was a 9-5 but I felt stuck
I use AI in my job every day. If you're not learning to use it, you are falling behind very quickly. Task automation, responding to messages/emails, project planning, coding, etc. We are all doing it better and faster than our peers using AI tools. I even have AI write my EOY reviews at this point. Work smarter, not harder!
My company had mass layoffs in May. I’m now self employed (licensed therapist) and it was the best thing to ever happen to me. I feel so free. No doubt, having the right plan is invaluable, my portfolio is well-matched for every season of the market and recently hit 100% rise from early last year. I and my CFP are working on a 7 figure ballpark goal, tho this could take till Q2 2025.

I partly agree with everyone going freelance. In many countries in the EU, the corporation taxes when you own your business are so high, that you'll be working to pay off taxes and social contributions for a while before actually making money.
For everyone saying open a business because you just work a few hours a day must not own a business. I'm working 9-5 for 6 days a week now. If any non-custodial parents are reading this, PLEASE do your best to work out a payment arrangement with the custodial parent to help support your child because it will be much cheaper for you. When things escalates to the court, then your pockets will be drained immediately.
Most men DO support their kids and are an integral part of the child's life, as long as they are allowed to be. Perhaps it is the type of men one gravitates towards that the ones who don't own up. All the men I know were great dads to their kids and even towards the legacies of other men.

LinkedIn CEO missed one big block to his freelancer vision. Bureaucracy. DOL and all other similar government bodies don’t want a freelance/gig job market. They want all workers to be employees of a large company that must comply to all their rules. Many government laws regarding labor have a minimum number of employees, typically 50. And there are laws that make companies consider a freelancer like an employee, so you might as well hire an employee for less than a freelancer. Not saying freelance won’t be a big part of the labor market, but there are many government bodies that are very motivated to stem that sector’s growth.

Our economy struggling with uncertainties, housing issues, foreclosures, global fluctuations, and pandemic aftermath, causing instability. Rising inflation, sluggish growth, and trade disruptions need urgent attention from all sectors to restore stability and stimulate growth.
In particular, amid inflation, investors should exercise caution when it comes to their exposure and new purchases. It is only feasible to get such high yields during a recession with the guidance of a qualified specialist or reliable counsel.

Same reason several retired people choose to go back to work. It’s rewarding.
In those 3 years the integration course had to be finished and exams passed
Minimum 1 year full time work
And also stay married to my wife for 3 years.
And yet, we in america, are hell bent on higher taxes and social spending, thinking we can do it better than Canada, or England or Germany.

9-5 been dead......Americans have to rethink how they provide for their families
Push back to 9-6 and now I’m working 9-7 pm.
That’s key, right? Everyone’s talking about how the world of work is evolving, but we need to make sure our money is evolving too.
So true!
To be fair young people are usually stuck working night shift or overnight. Mornings are usually harder to get
Work from home, independent contractor gigs, self employment, trading, and night/overnight jobs like Amazon. We have way more ways to make income than the outdated 9-5 on-site job.
@@tswagg504lmao facts, people have to be willing to work w any amount of hour availability now, can’t limit your options

Although i don’t consider my blue collar job meaningful, I have solid job security, study paycheck, and earn enough to save for retirement. I’m not that materialistic but i’m thankful for what i got. I could see a major shift to this as company's don't want to pay any kind of benefits in the future.
also, by doing this, they can hire people long enough to complete a contract, then cut you lose when it's over.

It’s not that deep this is digital hustle culture
