    You made a very informative video Micah. Your explanation of how to harvest tobacco was definitely " smoking." I'm glad to see you turned over a " new leaf."

      I appreciate the compliment! Nate and I actually talked about that this evening while watching it. I/we enjoy the filming and getting a glimpse of stuff to people it’s the editing and stuff on that end that would trip us up!

      @@micahfrey8486 Try it, get good basic starter editing software, some software is way too complex, hard to use and a lot of over kill. If it is a time crunch to make videos, just make 1 video a week or something that fits your schedule.

      @@DJ51011 I don’t think the time crunch would hold me back, what’s one more thing in a busy schedule 😂 I think I could find time to fit that in it’s more just the learning curve of all the editing but we could probably get it. For now I’m content and enjoy helping Ashlyn and getting little bits out as things come along!

    I helped with tobacco years ago when my family grew it. Never knew about using lard. It sure was sticky!

    Interesting. Don't see much about tobacco farming. With the taboo of tobacco, it's no wonder.

    Hey Micah! Thanks for doing this video. I heard you say you have ventilation boards in the tobacco barn. What is the optimum range of temperature for the barn to be at?

    • @micahfrey8486
      @micahfrey8486 2 года назад +3

      Doesn’t really have much to do with temperature actually. More has to do with the air flow. To get it to cure well you need good Air flow through the barn to prevent burn or rot… good question

      We actually raise a PA 41 tobacco, don’t ask me why it’s called that cause I don’t know 😂 but the overall goal for this product is the perfect leaf which is then used for cigars mainly….

    • @rohrerdairyproductions4080

      Good question. They have all the tools and resources needed to grow tobacco. Tobacco is a good cash crop even though tobacco is not good for you but there is still a demand for it. (There tobacco is used for cigars)

    • @rohrerdairyproductions4080
      @rohrerdairyproductions4080  2 года назад +1

      @@dfarmer9005 I think he was just asking a question. He was only wondering why they grow it. Not asking if there are benefits from tobacco. Tobacco has been around for a long time and yes it is a good cash crop. They did not build those barns recently to grow tobacco. I would almost guarentee that if they had no equipment to grow tobacco they would not build barns and buy equipment for tobacco. I'm pretty sure we are all on the same page here. Tobacco is bad for you and if people want to chew or whatever that's on them.
