Tekken 2 was my first PlayStation game. Jun was my favourite character from that game. My wife is Japanese and when we had to find a name for our daughter I had to suggest "Jun". Luckily my wife liked it 👍😄

Jun was introduced in Tekken 2. She was portrayed as a mysterious and fearless woman, a fighter for peace. Though initially entering the second tournament to stop Kazuya Mishima (She was a WWWC officer at the time), it was implied that the two were attracted to one another (With Kazuya's dialogue in the Scenario Campaign describing her as "Mysterious"), and eventually led to her impregnation of Jin. After the tournament, she moved on to a more reclusive life in the forests, however, Devil, who had lost his main host (Kazuya had been killed by Heihachi at this point), attempted to possess Jin though Jun successfully drove him away. Later in life, her peaceful life with Jin ended when Ogre began attacking and slaughtering participants of the second tournament. Jun was among his victims, as her windmill kick is among Ogre's command. During the struggle, she urged Jin to flee to Heihachi. This would be the last time Jin would see his mother, as Ogre had knocked him unconscious. During her absence, a portion of Devil finally managed to enter Jin. Though still missing, her continuous presence and teachings have helped prevent Jin from being completely controlled by the Devil Gene. The very first occurrence happened during the fourth tournament, where her image prevented Jin from killing his father and grandfather outright. In numerous occasions, Harada himself has personally stated that Jun's current status is only considered as "Missing", not dead. This has led to speculation on to her next canonical appearance in future Tekken games. Initially, prior to Tekken Tag Tournament 2's release, Harada stated that if he had enough followers and people who tweeted to bring Jun back, he would do so. Soon enough, he did receive more than the prescribed followers, and Jun was indeed included into the game!
It's worth noting that there seems to be very little actual love between Jun and Kazuya and that their attraction may be more rooted in the fact that Jun was able to quell Kazuya's devil side where no one else ever could. Jun was pure and good to the point that it affected Kazuya, as well. It also opens speculation that Jin was actually conceived by rape as opposed to romantic love, but it is very little explored, so we may never know for sure if they came together from love or just obsession over Jun's purity. And with Jun no longer in the games and Kazuya's character wrapped up in hatred and destruction, we'll probably never really know.
I like to think that Jun was so pure that she was able to bring out the more human side of Kazuya. His inner child, that had been almost canceled by Heihachi and the devil gene. Unfortunately, his thirst for vengeance reawakened the devil gene and he went completely evil.
+JAY STATION ONE I do, I had Tekken 2, then I didn't get another game until Tekken 4, Tekken 5 came out and you can play Tekken 1,2 and 3, however I prefer to go play Tekken 1 in the Chinese takeaway down the road, they have the arcade machine there, it's awesome! the owner even said he thought of trading it in for one of those fruit machines but since I come in every week he kept it.

Bc it cements her legacy. The influence of Jun Kazan’s runs through all the following Tekken games, even in it’s faintest moments. Through Kazuya and Jin, even Asuka to a minor degree, she still has a presence. Now she’s a special character to everyone and has become on of the series best.

I was the exact same with the dragon ball inspired ps1 fighter destrega. That stage 1 theme was burned into my brain for the longest time. Only reason i found it again was because a family membee was throwing away all their old ps1 demos and i asked for them

I was born in June of 1985, and this was during my childhood back in the late 80s & early 90s. So this was during a time when all of the great nostalgic moments of my youth were lived! You had the Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, Sega Saturn, Playstation, Panasonic 3DO, Phillips CD-i, etc. And then not to mention all of the TV shows of the day, besides great movies in which these characters (as well as many other video game characters) were based off of. But this makes me want to cry and makes me feel a little bit old. Lol Notheless, I miss those times sometimes. But I pray and hope that I am in a position one day to be able to come up with great history where I can create nostalgic moments for the NEXT GENERATION!!! ~ Kary

Good lord, the nostalgia and the feeling that ran through my body after hearing this for the first time in years... i didn't think hearing this again would make me want to be a child again, playing Tekken 2 all day long. The flute makes this beautiful. I can definitely appreciate this much more as an adult, 20 years on from first hearing it on the PS1 :)
Without detracting from Tekken 3, but the sounds and music of Tekken 2 always seemed to me of higher quality, when I was little I felt immersed in the fight just by listening to the music. They sure did it to save space in Tekken 3.

I loved Tekken 2 very much. I just wish that it had TWO things: 1) The characters mouths' had movements with words both their poly & non-poly figures and that Tekken 2 had a Tekken Force like adventure... But I still give Tekken 2 9.5/10...

True, both songs are my favorites in the game because of it.
I never really looked at both themes that way.
They really have the same composition but sound so different (Jun = serene, Kazuya = wrathful).

Without detracting from Tekken 3, but the sounds and music of Tekken 2 always seemed to me of higher quality, when I was little I felt immersed in the fight just by listening to the music. They sure did it to save space in Tekken 3.
man tekken 2 has hands down the best OST of any game imo, there's other really good ones from around that time, but t2 was just beyond epic

Tekken 2 has memories of my father playing with me and my brother. Sadly he passed away in 08. Jun was his main he button mashed his way to beating us eventually, I miss the 90's and my dad 😭

I loved Tekken 2 very much. I just wish that it had TWO things: 1) The characters mouths' had movements with words both their poly & non-poly figures and that Tekken 2 had a Tekken Force like adventure... But I still give Tekken 2 9.5/10...

One of my favorite themes in all of tekken. Beautiful, serene and calm with some foreboding atmosphere of foreshadowing.
Whenever I fought Jun in Tekken 2, I'd intentionally lose one round so I could listen to the music longer.
