- The Closest Railway To A Canal In Great Britain.
A selection of trains running beside the Worcester and Birmingham Canal on Sunday the 5th October 2021.
We see some Voyagers, Class 323s, 170s, MPVs and best of all 43357 and 43301 on one of the CrossCountry HST workings.

Canal on the left, trains on the right, path in the middle - what a great place. It's exactly my kind of walk.
Thank you for watching! It certainly is a great walk The railway and canal run parallel for a few more miles so one day I'll go walk and walk the rest of the towpath.
Even though I'm not a railway enthusiast enjoyed this I will send it to a friend who is !
Thank you!
Yeah I went pass through here every day by train
Really enjoyed this video nice setting ...... nice selection of trains
Thank you very much! Its a nice place if you want to get away from the hussel and bussel of Birmingham City Centre.
Great video Henry nice railway scene by the Canal have a good weekend.
Thank you very much! You to!
Amazing railway video!!
Thank you!
Great Video with some lovely shots!
Thank you very much!
What a fantastic little spot, I know my daughter would absolutely love this one, being so close up. Great video as always
Thank you very much! Easy to get if from both University and Five Ways Stations.
The railway and canal run across the Calthorpe Estate. Lord Calthorpe insisted that the railway ran close to the canal and applied the same restrictions to the railway as to the canal, no wharfs, sidings, workshops or stores. Thanks for this video. This used to be my local line and I still use it occasionally.
Thank you for watching and the information. That makes sense as to how the railway and canal fit into a narrow area running so close.
Very Nice Train Video.👍❤
Thank you very much! :)
The only thing that would make this video even more enjoyable would be at least one Narrowboat.
I was really hoping a narrowboat would come along!
A great location Henry. Very pleasant video. Pity there were no boats or barges.
Thank you very much! The canal seemed to be completely devoid of all movement that day.
There was a 5 year gap of closures between church road and Somerset road
Great video Henry.
Thank you!
This is what I would want to see. Walking alongside the canal and the railway line and seeing the trains passing by.
Thank you for watching! I always enjoy a walk beside the canal but when you've got a railway to, even better!
😊
Canal make for a great public green space.
I always enjoy a walk along a canal.
Wow a fantastic day out it looks like sort of feels like the Dawlish sea wall but inland and also I believe between Bedwyn and Woodborough the train line runs parallel to the canal and the railway is higher so you can get some amazing train reflection shots
Also the tunnels remind me of the tunnels in Sydney Gardens Bath
Thank you for watching, I agree its like Dawlish in land and similar to Sydney Gardens. I've travelled on the Berks & Hants through Bedwyn many times and have always wanted to walk the Kennet & Avon Canal and make a simular video to this one.
@@HenrysAdventures your very welcome and I would highly recommend walking parts of the Avon and Kennet canal as some parts in Berkshire have swing bridge with level crossing lights which are really interesting to watch and also crofton pumping station is definitely a recommend place too visit
@@AshBehindtheCamera Crofton Pumping Station is also on my list to places to visit.
That will be the last time you will see the West Midlands 323 before they immigrated themselves to Manchester
Thank you for watching! That's why I thought I better get this footage.
@@HenrysAdventures yeah before they go
I might well have been on one of those 323s - had a daytime rehearsal in Brum that Friday
Thank you for watching! I always enjoy a trip on a Class 323, especially the sound as they depart!
That is close!
Thank you for watching! Yes, very close!
Must be cool being featured in the bbc
It was a first for me!
What is the viaduct in the background?
Which point in the video?
No viaduct here really - only bridges.
Mate, I'm in love. Please could you send me a pin point link on googles maps via Facebook please. Just been to Wolverton and highly recommend a visit
All good now bud I see it.
@@PurpleVision23 Thank you for watching and glad you have found the location!
