I found a great upgrade for lighting arcade/pinball marquees - www.PinballHelp.com

As work continues repairing this Frogger video arcade, I was planning to do a video on retrofitting the 18" T8 flourescent bulb that lights the marquee with an LED (and removing the ballast wiring) which is also used on some pinball machines from the 2000s, I discovered an even better lighting option you can probably find at your local Lowes. Works perfectly if you have an electronic ballast. DO these old machines have a magnetic ballast or electronic? I hate to buy one of these bulbs and it burns out my ballast. And it looks like you lose about an inch or 2 on both ends of the tube. I may just stick to the T12 florescent bulb due to it fitting in the bulb spring steel retainers better than the smaller T8.

a bit of looking around and one can find a color one... stuff is strange, got some RGBW strips at a dollar store that works fine for my eccentric lighting. Now to fix my vector game that easy..

Mike, nice find. I found one of these LEDs at my Lowes looking for a replacement bulb. We put it in our Ice Cold Beer. Looks nice.
