Just bought this at an REI garage sale. It was in brand new condition for $75.00 (steal). Also bought the Sherpa 100ac for $100.00 (massive steal). Check for these at those events. They are almost ALWAYS there.
I'm really excited about the anker powerhouse, just waiting for the competition to drive the price down, 434 watt hours/ 120,000 mah 160 watt max, but its around twice the price but nearly 6 X the capacity.
Yeah, it looks like a really nice piece of equipment though. I agree, I do feel like all these devices are overpriced, and I'm hoping prices on them will drop as alternatives emerge.
Canadian Prepper It's cool to see you on this channel commenting on other people's stuff! Although the powerhouse has more capacity, I like this better because you can get any number of goal zero's panels and charge it up without getting an special adapters or anything. Also they have a while eco system of lights and what not that work well with their yeti line!
I always prefer goal zero. The replaceable battery, pure sine wave 300w inverter (yeti400) unlike anker which has modified sine wave inverter and its batteries are not replaceable.
Still using mine to this day. I replaced the battery with a higher capacity one from mighty max for $28. It's the perfect companion and I like that the battery and fuses are user-replaceable. Which means it can be one of those things you own for life, provided you don't completely wreck it in the rain or drop it from high up. It's rugged as all hell
Great breakdown, I've been interested in these for car camping too, especially something a little bigger that can eliminate a small generator. Looking forward to the TRL6 as I've been looking at adding that to my 9mm Shield, which I just bought a 10 round Hyve technologies magazine that should be arriving early next week.
I saw some of these Goal Zero devices at Costco they even had a large one that would replace a home generator. The cool thing is it's quiet. I had a friend in NJ who had his electric generator stolen during Katrina and this doesn't scream I have something to steal.
Renogy has a product called the firefly. It's basically this and the panels in one suitcase type unit. you just open it up to start using the panels. It's about 500 bucks.

Hello there and thank you for the great demonstrative video. I'm thinking to purchase this particular power station, along with the solar panels, however, I have a few important questions before I do. I'm without transportation and limited on funds, so I was thinking about getting either an electric power assisted bike, tricycle or scooter. At the end of this month my home goes into foreclosure, so I'll have to figure out something for transportation that can be continuously charged without my needing to plug it into a wall outlet, so, an electric bike or tricycle can stay charged if I peddle some of the time, yes? Also, if I can only afford a scooter, let's say, the EcoSmart Seated Scooter; could I plug that scooter and/or the bike's, into this charger and keep their battery fully charged, especially if I can attach a canopy that can hold a folding solar panel and keep the power station on board in the basket? This is my idea. I'm a senior and I'm looking for wise choices due to limited resources to invest before I make a purchase; all advice is very much appreciated. Thank You.
Greetings from Costa Rica , I was thinking about buy one , do you have any idea how many times can I charge the battery of a laptop? In my case it’s a MacBook Pro
It's inefficient to charge batteries with an inverter, because you're going from DC to AC to DC, but whatever keeps you charged I guess. I'd recommend looking into DC chargers for your laptop, and power tools to get the most juice out of your battery.
yes awesome, just waiting on your environmentally safe gun cleaning oil and grease. I like corrosion X oil and the lubriplate grease. thought you were using fire clean at one time.
I did/do use fireclean and actually love it. Though I don't like that they sued another gun guy, and have generally been kind of shady - so I have a hard time supporting them.
Over the years I've really had nothing but bad experiences with Goal Zero. Not trying to kill your vibe but figured everyone would appreciate my perspective. I've owned GZ solar panels, battery packs, and other accessories(purchased and received as gifts). With the two battery packs I've owned, they both failed and refused to hold a charge after a couple months of use. The three solar panels I've had, under direct sunlight, charged my phone so incredibly slow that it wasn't even worth it. I've since switched to Anker brand products. I haven't used their solar panels yet, but if it's production is anywhere close to the standards of their battery packs than I'm sure it will be much better than GZ. I've left Anker battery packs charged in my cold Jeep for weeks, come back to them still fully charged and ready to go. For how cheap they are($15 for 2500mah, which would cost twice that and less capacity by GZ), in relation to GZ's over blow price tags, I'd go with them any day. Perhaps my experience is localized, and maybe others have had differing experiences. However, for me, as soon as GZ products started failing, I know I needed to trying something else. Battery packs and solar panels are very important pieces of gear, and one day you might be relying on it to keep life saving equipment up and running. **not an Anker rep. I'm an adventure photographer and overlander. @bradleycastaneda on IG. Cheers!
Anker makes some great products, I have a handful of their various hubs, chargers, etc. Their PowerHouse (amzn.to/2gYxOf3) looks like a really great product.
Last Line Of Defense yeah I've looked at the Powerhouse before too and thought it look well built and intriguing. Maybe one day I'll get my hands on one to test out.
Last Line Of Defense It looks great against that sand color, your taco is looking great! We may have to do some dueling tacos skit or something lol, perfect contrast of north and south with color diff
Haha, that'd be fun. Unrelated, but often times a company will reach out to me to review a product, and it's something that I just saw on your channel and I'm like... I should probably skip it, otherwise my channel is just going to look like a ripoff of Canadian Prepper.
Last Line Of Defense So few have it that you would only be the second to review, if 100 people can review the same flashlight I think 2 can review and awesome tonneau cover, if you want to collaborate on something I would be hip to it.
Yeah man, that sounds fun. I've never done any collab with any other RUclipsrs, so it'd be new to me, but I'm definitely open to it! Shoot me an email at mike@llod.us and maybe we can discuss?
good video about the battery. i might consider to buy one. thanks for showing the features. by the way i like your beanie and where did u get that from?
Alexandra, great question because I was thinking along the same lines. A cook top 2100w would uses 2100w per hour, meaning 150w wouldn’t get you very far... about 4.5 minutes. That is if it doesn’t draw more than 80 watts at a given moment... My advice is even if it could, it probably wouldn’t be worth it to buy it and spend a whole day of sunshine to cook on a griddle for 4.5 minutes. Goal Zero has a video on the Yeti 400 here on RUclips that helps explain all this a little more
would this work if i took it on a 1 week maine trip to charge my phone, speakers, and other peoples phone? i am also looking at buying a dji mavic pro would i be able to charge it also?
Haha, maybe I'll do a desk tour at some point - but if you're actually interested in seeing more of it, I have an imgur album of it here - imgur.com/gallery/6WsVM
I love power related stuff like this, have you looked at stuff like the NOCO Genius Boost jump starters? They are really cool (Although they also lie about their output... But they are the best of the bunch)
Pretty off topic, but what do you think about the new mac book pros not having a USB port, SD card slot, or mag safe charger? Do you think you will continue using a mac pro when its time to buy a new one??
I actually haven't been using Macs for about 6 months now, I tend to switch back and forth - but still have my Mac solely for iMovie... haha. I hate Apple, they force people to use technologies that either aren't ready yet, or aren't widely available. A lot of times those technologies flop instead of catching on, and you're left with some stupid ports (or lack of ports) on your machine. Granted, usb-c will definitely catch on and be the standard, though it's stupid for a professional level laptop to have no SD slot, and no standard USB.
I really hate a lot of what Apple has done lately. Taking the headphone jack off of the iPhone7 was nearly enough for me to get a Galaxy S 7. My main reasons for wanting the Galaxy though was the water proof factor, and the ability to put whatever size storage I wanted in it. With the iPhone7 being water proof though, and the 128gb version costing me about as much as a Galaxy7 and a 128gb micro sd, I stayed with the iPhone. Honestly I'm probably one of the least affected by the missing headphone jack. I hardly used it much to begin with, in my car I either bluetooth or use a lightening cord. I didn't quite understand what USBc was, but I'm not as upset now. I see you can find cords that are HDMI on one end and USBc on the other so you can connect as usual to a monitor or tv without an adapter. I also found some USBc flash drives, even though I don't use them, that's important to some people I'm sure. The lack of an SD card slot is pretty mind numbing to me though, especially since it is not a very thick port any way. I have a late 2013 13inch mac pro I got before I went to college, and I've loved it so far. Pages is absolutely bonkers though, there are many things wrong with it IMO. When this one is done I should be living on my own, and may just downsize to a regular macbook, and get a mac mini desktop computer, with some sort of monitor.
I'd rather buy a tailgator from Harbor Freight tools for under 200 bucks way more reliable and provides 900watts. Granted it is noisy but I take my gator everywhere
I'm not a fan of GoalZero. Bought one of there smaller Panels for my 6 month long walking trip and I never, ever saw it working and it seemed to not function at all out of my pack. Fiddled with it quite a bit and researched but it just never worked.
No, the 150 is too small for big power suckers like those. It is best for charging devices/lights. There's a yeti 400 that might be able to do that though
I really love how self aware you are noticing when you're veering off topic and having the humor to point it out and continue w the review, its very refreshing. thanks for the review

Haha thank you
Great breakdown, I've been interested in these for car camping too, especially something a little bigger that can eliminate a small generator. These two items would be great to have on hand. Thanks for the videos.

Less than one minute in, love the video already
Great review! I dig you prepping / survival videos.
Hello, Can it be used to power a coolbox or a mini fridge when camping for a few days? Thanks
Nice review. Well informative!
Renogy has a product called the firefly. It's basically this and the panels in one suitcase type unit. you just open it up to start using the panels. It's about 500 bucks.
I got mine for power outages mostly but also for a bit of prepper situation
You started to mention survival books. Any recommendations? Always looking for new books to read! Great videos!
One Second After and the sequel are great - amzn.to/2g3S7pr
299 Days is a good (long) series for the nerdy prepper type (though I hate the reader/narrator, I imagine it'd be a better read than it is a listen) - amzn.to/2gZRfEo
Going Home is a fun one - I haven't read the whole series yet - amzn.to/2h8Yqca
The Passage is a weirder post apocalyptic series that is a much better novel than any of the rest, though it isn't really geared at prepping/survivalism, as much as it is entertainment - amzn.to/2gZRUWh
The Last Tribe is good, though I only just started it - amzn.to/2h8TtQG
Alas, Babylon is the kind of the godfather of apocalyptic novels - it's a little boring/old, but good - amzn.to/2h8TLHl
I've read a dozen or two others that are more zombie, teeny bopper love story, aliens, etc - but the above ones are a little more serious/realistic for the most part.
I don't really have time to sit down and read - though I've listened to all of these, and dozens others on Audible, as audio books, while I'm doing other things like making holsters or working on various projects around the house, or driving. Not a sales pitch by any means, but if you're interested in a trial or whatever, more info here - amzn.to/2gJLlcc
Thanks man I appreciate it! And I've got audible. Listen to books on my long commute to school and work. I'll check these out!
Last Line Of Defense Alas Babylon is so good. Classic.
Great Job as always keep it up!

Amazon has a combo pack with both for $400
Highly recommend reading the series of books called The Remaining- by D.J. Molles.

Agreed, but a lot of time for me convenience may trump efficiency.
Last Line Of Defense Yeah, use it how you want to, in the end it's still a tool.
Nice anyone had purchased this zero yeti 150? how is it?

good video about the battery. i might consider to buy one. thanks for showing the features. by the way i like your beanie and where did u get that from?
will it charge via solar and charge devices at the same time?
You should do a vid on generators an solar panels witch is ur fav and likes dislikes I’m looking to get one with panel thanks
Will this put out enough juice to run a CPAP machine overnight?
cool thanks for the review
Great review. Just wondering would it power a induction cook top 2100w?

Invite for LAN party? My brothers are professional console :( players
Besides solar and the supplies cord to plug into a 110v outlet, what is another way to charge this yeti?
Those are the main ways out of the box - but you can rig up chargers from wind mills, bicycle setups, etc.
So it looks like this gets great reviews. Two years later...Do you still use this with your current camping setup?
So how long could this run your macbook?
I love power related stuff like this, have you looked at stuff like the NOCO Genius Boost jump starters? They are really cool (Although they also lie about their output... But they are the best of the bunch)
do you know if it will charge a dji mavic battery?
Great video! Thanks!
hey. great review!
how many full charges did you get with the dewalt?
What tv did you end up going with? I'm actually wanting to upgrade to a 4K myself thanks
I splurged a bit on Black Friday... amzn.to/2h8Rfkh - it's definitely the nicest TV I've ever owned, by a large margin.
How long can it power Halloween projection lights.

I think a 1500watt would be good to run big stuff
How do I go about testing gear?
Cheapest price for the solar panel?
If you like the trl 7 will you be adding it to the options of your holsters?
Planning on adding the G43 w/TLR6 next.
Last Line Of Defense for the mrs?
"Will charge the tv for long"...well..how long???
What are you top 3 favorite books?
Would this be ok to run my pc. I run my pc 24/7 So looking for a way to cut cost.
how many times can it charge your laptop after it is fully charged till it runs out of charge ?
Really depends on the laptop, how much power it's pulling, how big the battery is, etc.
surface pro 4
nice gadgets but how much is it
Anyone know what this converts to in milliamps?
CAN I CHARGE MY LAPTOP 220 VOLTS
Anker makes a the Powerhouse that can run a mini fridge for 7hrs
Yeah that thing looks like a beast!
too bad that you can't charge the powerhouse with a solar charger yet.
I'd rather buy a tailgator from Harbor Freight tools for under 200 bucks way more reliable and provides 900watts. Granted it is noisy but I take my gator everywhere
I know allot about A.D.D. mainly because I have it as well
IN OTHER WORDS HOW MANY TIMES CAN I CHARGE MY CELL PHONE

Any recommendations on LED lights to plug into the Yeti?
Maybe a crossbow at the camp site
Is it possible to to watch tv and play Xbox on this?
No, the 150 is too small for big power suckers like those. It is best for charging devices/lights. There's a yeti 400 that might be able to do that though
Pure Power Solar Mmm I see, I was looking at the river but that's super expensive
That one looks really high quality
How would it fair in a Zombie Apocalypse?
people really wanna know max capacity for solar panel so we don't burn it 🌬🔥
Hello, can Yeti 150 be used to power my cool box during camping? thanks
Thank you so much for this useful feedback!
Muy guapo!
So this would power a Nintendo 64
nice dianondback... review that
Planning on it, I really love it so far!
Last Line Of Defense They do look really cool.
👍
OH HE'S CUTE
