On art prints, look for the number, like 27/150. The fist number is where in the run this one was printed and second number is the total number printed.
And that's the beauty of HomeGoods...You can find a diamond in all the chaos and ppl who love chaos can also find it. For me its getting close to that all they have is holiday decor so I'll take a break until next year. You offered some insights I hadn't thought of. Some YT like to poop on HG but its one of the few home decor stores that most ppl can find something they like and can afford.
@@kat64470 World market! Also Homesense is great, it’s part of the tjx brand with tons of choices including a super expansive lighting selection! I’ve never been but there’s a place called At Home which is supposed to be good
I can’t even explain how incredibly helpful that video was from start to finish. I can’t make decisions and don’t have any sort of theme and am terrible at home decor. This just helped me out tremendously, thank you!
Ralph Lauren Home in the textiles and accents departments. Prices are about the same as the Polo factory outlets. All-Clad, Calphalon, Cuisinart, DeBuyer, Mauviel, Oxo in the cookware - usually single pieces from sets at very attractive remainder prices.
Hi, kiva, this was an EXCELLENT video, you covered everything. One thing i would like to point out is that i tend to buy those throw blankets with fringe, that are made in Portugal or spain. Tyvm, kiva. 👏🏻👍🏻. "PEACE & LOVE.
Hi Kiva from Brunei 🇧🇳 New fan here but wish I'd known about you begfore buying so many small horrid pieces that are now clogging up my house 🤦♀️ Loving your style and new slimmed down look, such an inspiration!
My style is primarily missions/craftsman so for lamps, the stained-glass geographical patterns & the little bulb & mica shades. Old steamer trunks & flat top 'hope'/cedar chests are incredible for both side & coffee tables & you can't beat them for the storage!
I haven’t been to Home Goods since I moved three years ago. We don’t have one really close. There is one, but it’s like an hour away. Which isn’t bad form where I live. I have never seen one as clean as the one you were in. I go straight to the kitchen gadgets. I love to see if there’s something I don’t have. My husband goes for the food from around the world. I know they got rid of the pet section. But I used to look at that too. I’m not sure I ever left the store with nothing. Unless, I was looking for a certain thing and they didn’t have it.
I love the Artwork at Home Goods too! I'm also a basket addict lol! If I see a basket that would go great in my apartment for either decor or usage, I'm snatching it up!😂
I like checking out the clearance section.Found some brass bells that I will hang on my wreath Christmas. Also do well finding unusual items for granddaughter.
I just bought a lamp from HomeGoods because I feel in love at the store. ACTUALLY it was a short fling because when I got home I didn't feel the spark. Moral of the story: keep the receipt & actually return the item. Hopefully when I go back I see that wood mirror you showed.
Yes yes yes! Also lesson I’ve learned, if you aren’t 100% sure - buy it and try at home and then take back. If you don’t pick it up and still are thinking about it a few days later, it’s likely gone by the time you can get back to the store
Hiiii KB! I have some decorative trinket boxes from Home Goods that I am donating only so I can go back to Home Goods to find some new decorative trinket boxes 😅 Don’t know why but I love them! Thx for the tips 💜
Na the candles at HomeGoods and their sister stores be having me in a choke hold ! Idk how to snap myself out of the trance I'm under after smelling a good one 😅
Excellent presentation. You are very knowledgeable. Unfortunately Home Goods stores near me (in two states) has none of the quality products you features, but lots and lots of pure junk.
going to home goods with my ex-boyfriend sadly opened my eyes to his awful aesthetic. those rugs styled after Oriental rugs that are thin and are supposed to look worn with nap that is colored to look aged are just hideous. one of the reasons he’s an ex!
Very educational and inspiring, thank you, now I know how and what to look for next time I visit Homegoods, though I am more into basket and pillows first.😊
Kiva, call me crazy but I think you're about to see fish tanks gaining popularity. It reminds me of the floral industry with the design and competitions. I think everyone that's migrating from house plants to Aquascape is feeling the pain of trying to find a stand that's large, affordable AND stylish? Wayfair has stands but they are too small or have barn doors on them! I've given up and next chance I get I'm headed to Home Goods to look for a solid buffet or TV stand?
Kiva! I just put in gorgeous new wood floors and now need to pick out 3 large area rugs and a couple runners. I'm struggling to figure out if I should use the same rugs for all the spaces or different ones. If different, how do you coordinate so the whole place looks cohesive????
I hate the one sided pillows with a design on one side and a cheap cotton on the other. It just looks SO cheap! Pillows always flop down on furniture so having the same design on both sides (used to be de rigeur) is imperative
Faux fur was extremely cheap in the 80"s and 90's and large blankets could be purchased for just a few dollars. I found it tacky and hated it then and still do. Unfortunately young home designers who were unfamiliar with the material caught wind of it and renamed it "faux fur" just as they did with the old pleather renaming it "faux leather" and the prices for both materials soared...particularly for faux leather. Regardless how popular it becomes faux fur will always be cheap and tacky to me.
I design and I do not like throws with fringe they do not wear or wash well with time and they are not classy, good advice on some things but all stores have good and bad decor homegood is far above most stores .
So i wasn't supposed to buy the 2 foot tall gold pharaoh statute?🙄 To be fair he wouldn't work in most places but i think he's a nice addition to my dusty dark acidemia Victorian library Im working on. there's a few things i might need to go looking for including those coins, i see a possible diy there. i guess when you have a theatre degree you probably get a little more of a pass?
Totally disagree with most of your tips! I’ve shopped Homegoods on the regular for many years! You talk like it’s Ross! It is not! Many times while shopping Homegoods I have met designers who are shopping for client’s homes. They are picking up top quality merchandise that is lower priced than the designer stores. When you were flipping through the throws, you completed ignored the Magaschoni throws. Anything in that brand is luxe. I bought a side table made in India from Homegoods last week. It was $100.00 less than the price on several websites. As for furniture not being stable you must realize that the furniture may have been put together quickly by store associates for display and you may have to tighten screw on legs. The best designers mix acrylic, metals and wood. They don’t tell you not to buy glossy acrylic artwork. A haul of what you purchased would have been nice. Sorry but not gonna subscribe.
I don't shop at Homegoods anymore due to very long lines. I simply cannot invest the time required in standing in line. So many of my friends say the same thing. Target has good hone products and thee lines there are MUCH shorter.
Oh no I will always buy a fur throw and pillows for that mater. They’re for decor I don’t eat wearing mine. I do agree with not buying a lot of chotskies or dust collectors as my moms says
Did you end up buying that solid black fringed throw blanket? I bought that a few weeks ago and omg it is so gorgeous! I only wish it was triple in size so I can throw it over my sectional!
On art prints, look for the number, like 27/150. The fist number is where in the run this one was printed and second number is the total number printed.
Such an amazing tip!! Thanks so much for sharing :)

Totally! Homegoods is about to get taken over by holiday decor.
What other home decor stores are there? Besides like a Kirkland? I need other places please.

I’m so so happy that this was helpful!!
Only thing I would add is baskets. For me home goods is all about baskets and blankets.
I would love a part 2 tackling the kitchen section! Great video!
Such a great idea!! :)
Perfect timing! Moving into my first home and need all the decor tips I can get
Congratulations on your first home!! Have so much fun decorating :)
I took a couple of art classes while in college and learned some basics. I think I'd rather make my own art.
Please make more videos like these!! Super helpful for a novice like myself. 😊
Yay! I’m so happy that you found it helpful :)
Love the point you make about functionality and non-mass produced art
Clear cord for lump!!!! Never thought about it!!!!!
Kiva you were right!! A throw blanket on a bed is a pain! I move it around every time I pass by the bed. 🤦♀️🤦♀️. Took it off

i love your video could you do a part 2 about the kitchen. And bathroom.
Totally!! That’s such a great idea :)
Always a pleasure, KB. Your taste is exceptional!
Wow, thank you so much!!

How many people these days know about ‘hope chests’? And how many actually had one (contents, not just the container?).

Can you do something similar like this for the thrifting/antiquing home decor junkies like myself?!!
I still love Home Goods stores. Every store has good & bad things!
This video was so helpful! Just moved to my first apartment so these tips were nice:)
I’m so glad!! Congrats on your first apartment :)
I would have liked to have seen what you decided to buy in a haul showing. Thanks for those tips though. I enjoyed this video! 😊
You’re such a wonderful teacher!
You are a WEALTH of information! Thank you!
Aw thanks so much for watching!!
Thanks for the tips. I check the candle section whenever I am there…and the lamps! Love the lamp section. I
I love the Artwork at Home Goods too! I'm also a basket addict lol! If I see a basket that would go great in my apartment for either decor or usage, I'm snatching it up!😂
Also, thank you Kiva on the advice for lighting! I really don't like metal bottoms of lamps either. I prefer something aesthetic😉👍🏽
Thank you for making this video! It was actually really helpful with lots of design tips!
Great tips! Learned about the candles and wobble test. What are your suggestions for storage containers?
I like checking out the clearance section.Found some brass bells that I will hang on my wreath Christmas. Also do well finding unusual items for granddaughter.
I'm obsessed with home goods lol
Me too!! It’s too fun!

Thank you, I’m looking for a rug and now have some direction.
Excellent presentation. You are very knowledgeable. Unfortunately Home Goods stores near me (in two states) has none of the quality products you features, but lots and lots of pure junk.
Miss Kiva, proud that I follow most of the rules 😊

DW candles smell amazing !
Highly recommend them
Thank you so much for the tips and advice ❤
Thanks for watching!! 💕
Thank you for the advice and letting us know what to look for. Also for letting us know IT'S OKAY TO LEAVE IT AT THE STORE..lol
😢 I just bought the white vase you pointed to. But I still love it tho. Thanks for the tips
Thank you for google lens. I had no idea
Very educational and inspiring, thank you, now I know how and what to look for next time I visit Homegoods, though I am more into basket and pillows first.😊
Loving your inspiration
Home goods….. for someone else maybe but I used to come home with the tackiest cheapest stuff. Now avoid the place.
I love you teaching us do i dont have to break my neck. 😂 TY

Spot on! Many thanks 😊
Thanks for watching!! 💕💕
I really don’t like HomeGoods lol. I find it overpriced for so-so quality items. Nonetheless, thanks for the video! I’ll try again 😅
Awesome recommendations!
Thank you!!
GREAT video. Thank you.
Thank you!!
I plan to purchase area rug for dining room can you provide store. I want something nice with a little pile

This opening sentence is wild 😭😭
I don’t understand why people put things on top of coffee table books. How can the book be enjoyed if there’s a bunch of stuff on top of it?

I bought that throw and a couple candle holders! I’ll be sure to show them in an upcoming video :)
A plus

Define “Rich People” please
Was that AD book really on clearance for $23??!! 😩
Yes!! So crazy!
Me working there just not liking anything lol
... ... I just buy what I like. But then my homegoods isn't as nice
Disagree on fur throws. Not better or cheaper on Amazon…not that i want one..

Love it when you shop at HomeGoods keep it up ❤️
Yay! I’m so glad :)
Loving your specs, fit your sassy personality!!
Aw thank you!!
Hi Kiva, Great video! You look fit and fabulous! Happy Holidays!
Did you end up buying that solid black fringed throw blanket? I bought that a few weeks ago and omg it is so gorgeous! I only wish it was triple in size so I can throw it over my sectional!
I did!! I already love it so much :)
Thanks for all the advice ❤
Thanks for watching!! 💕
