the funniest thing about this video, is scrum was always only meant as a wrapper around XP to make it more palatable to "management", by adding things like sprints and retros and daily meetings to check up on things. All of this is to say, you can do XP without scrum, but you can't do scrum without XP. Also, XP, at its heart, is a set of engineering practices. it has no notion of scrum. and as an iterative process, it has no use for phases.

@@webhouse2020god That's because they don't have a clear understanding of what is a framework, what is a methodology and what is a model. It's frustrating really. They should learn the basics before making videos that might confuse people.
can someone explain for me the difference between a methodology, philosophy, framework and method, please. Those are all related and used terms to describe software management approaches. Example, some people say agile is a philosophy, a approach to software development and project management (which I can understand) and others say is a methodology (which for me is the same thing - although a methodology is a term more used in a specific way). We have scrum (which as far as I knew I thought it was a approach to use "agile", that can be explained as also being a method of the agile philosophy or a framework (but now you are saying is a subset of "agile", so basically scrum is methodology based on "agile"?) We have XP, Kanbam and lean which are all based methods/approaches/frameworks to agile philosophy (notice I didnt say they are methodologies, since they don't specify a way of think/manage projects, they're only a practical way of using the agile philosophy) Did I get the picture right?

Scrum or Extreme Programming - what would you choose? What features are needed for your work? 😉
both?
This video first introduced extreme programming to me. Never knew it existed. I am willing to explore this in my startup.
XP has been around for more than 20 years .

How did it go
Great vid, I was looking for the best agile method as a sole developer and XP seems to be the answer.

Scrum is not a methodology and saw a few more mistakes in the explanation of scrum. People might be confused if not all the information is correct.
what? why Scrum is not a methodology?
@@The_Ancient_Guardian It's a framework
You can do Scrum by utilizing XP techniques, which is a natural evolution.
Exactly
Wow what an amazing video about XP. Very imformative but straight to the point.
Great video but isn’t scrum 3 elements and not two? The three pillars are Transparency, inspection & adaptation.
Outstanding quality
What the hell??? BLack shows white something on the screen... man please!!!
This video seems to imply that XP and Scrum are at odds. But I don't think that's true
Good video, nice comparisons.
como hago pa unir scrum y xp
Hmm... I thought costumers couldn't make changes during sprints... I'll have to research a bit more
Costumers always change.
@@TheShadetheory yep, always change, but as far as I know, the sprint planning is where customers can add sprint backlog items to the sprint:3

Great video. Cleared up a lot.
it really very good...
Thank you for making this...
Nope, they had not tried both. Thank you for the stock photo slideshow.
Super helpful, thanks!
Scrum is NOT a methodology!
You're right and the answer is that Scrum isn't a methodology, it's a subset of Agile. Most get that confused.

Im looking for deep explanation of XP methodology but i was shock when he metioned Scrum as methodology. :D
@@eliasmartidis2983 I can be worse, there are many people that think Agile = Scrum.

A good summary
is it normal that our daily meetings last for 30-40 minutes? I hate it. Waste of time.
