you should have just expanded the holes in your winch plate to match the bolt pattern with space for the winch mount bolts. would have saved you from having to grind your bumper, which makes it weaker. making the holes in the winch plate a little bigger wouldn't have hurt the winch plate in the slightest.
I think the general rule of thumb is 1.5x vehicle weight, so 9500lb is plenty for a YJ. I got it on sale for $309, so about $70 cheaper and also 10lb lighter
Thanks for showing and noting the pitfalls of your install! Keep the videos coming!

Nice walk through, and thanks for showing everything. Nice 4runner

Quadratic makes a winch plate for the YJ that fits

The bumper is beat up and bent anyways!
Thanks for the install video! Could you possibly post a video of your opinions after using it?
I’m planning on it!
Could you have raised the plate with spacers
I did on the back side, I used a couple of washers
Great video. New sub here. What do you think about using a sythetic rope instead of the wire cable? Just curious...
I think the steel is more durable , but rope is lighter and probably safer
I see the tires are those the patagonia MT? I have that on my 1989 3/4 ton GMC4x4
Yeah! They are a pretty good tire
Carriage bolts would have worked no grinding necessary
Why did you go with the 9500lb over the 12,000lb winch?
