    As a Black British Man living in Jamaica it’s sad seeing the ignorance in these comments! The motto of the Country is “Out of Many One People”. Anyone comes to Jamaica especially Kingston you’ll see White, Chinese, and Indian all born and raised in Jamaica living normally.

    • @Higher_Sun_Highzak
      @Higher_Sun_Highzak 3 года назад +12

      But Jamaican dem no love dark skin

    • @ptrgrgry
      @ptrgrgry 3 года назад +19

      @@Higher_Sun_Highzak Ignorant Jamaicans don't. Your statement however has nothing to do with where he is from or Jamaica being multi-cultured.

    • @Higher_Sun_Highzak
      @Higher_Sun_Highzak 3 года назад +29

      "white, Chinese and Indian living normally"
      I agree with you there, because its only black and dark skin ppl you see ina the ghetto area and they certainly ain't living normally.. The same applies for ghettos worldwide..
      Anyway the point I was really getting at, is how come I have not seen any significant black Jamaican comedians making progress in the comedy circuit? Is it only a white Jamaican that can mek ppl laugh?
      Most black Jamaican love anything wid light or white skin, dem gwan like idiot over white Chinese and Indian people and their respective cultures, but will never honour and respect we own culture

    • @Higher_Sun_Highzak
      @Higher_Sun_Highzak 3 года назад +12

      Out of many one people Is not an original Jamaican motto either, gwan go check it out.. We love to hold on to folly too much, and follow anything white man say

    • @ptrgrgry
      @ptrgrgry 3 года назад +17

      @@Higher_Sun_Highzak again you’re missing the point trying to push your separatist agenda. Firstly, people find anything different appealing, so the idea of a “White” Jamaican is a novelty to those who are unknowing. Second, this Gentleman is in no way big in Jamaica he’s unknown and he’d just be seen as another White Jamaican as we wouldn’t appreciate the novelty hence why his appeal is mostly in the UK . With regards to Jamaican Comedians, Oliver Samuels and Majah Hype are two Jamaican Comedians from different eras who have had success on the Comedy circuit you question. If you are also in Jamaica you would see there are quite a few Comedians on the rise especially through Social Media. So again you miss the point and aren’t exactly correct in your statement.

    The Carib and Arawaks tribes were living in Jamaica when the Colonials arrived in the Caribbean. The colonials then brought Blacks from all over Africa as slaves.
    After slavery was abolished the colonials were forced to free all the African slaves and Irish slaves in Jamaica and the rest of the Caribbean.
    The colonials couldn’t convince the freed slaves to do the plantation work for payments…so they were forced to import the Chinese, Portuguese and East Indians from India to work on the sugar plantations.
    Today Jamaica and the rest of the Caribbean still have all these races living together in peace and harmony.

    Bless up White Yardie.. ✨
    hearing his story things make a bit more sense.
    As a Jamaican I must admit I was very skeptical about him because I thought he was a gimmick, and gimmick behaviour often causes offence.
    I think he was spot on when he said he wants to put his story out there so people understand where he is coming from, so when he is on certain platforms there is no misunderstanding.

    • @ptrgrgry
      @ptrgrgry 3 года назад +9

      Just wondering, as a Jamaican why would you be sceptical? Any proper Jamaican is aware of our ethnic mixture and interact with different ethnicities daily, especially hearing his accent youd know it isnt fake.

    • @rayanagram
      @rayanagram 3 года назад

      I’m not convinced. When describing an object or a situation he says “ sometink” as opposed to “ some ting” which is English trying to sound Jamaican, he seems to be conscious of trying to sounds authentic, yet you can hear him suppressing the english . Too many tell tale signs, people from st Elizabeth have a very distinctive accent and for him to have spent 18 years there without a trace of that accent is almost impossible, especially given the fact that he was virtually born there. Strictly my opinion, by the way ,is he an only child?

    • @ptrgrgry
      @ptrgrgry 3 года назад +2

      @@rayanagram think you’re reading way too deep into it and being intentionally skeptical. Not everyone in St Elizabeth sounds the same, Even Balaclava and Black River accents sound different. If he also went to a traditional school they would ensure he speaks proper English. Fact of the matter though he’s even been in Jamaican Papers visiting and speaking of his past community so would take a lot for the community to fake it as well.

    • @Higher_Sun_Highzak
      @Higher_Sun_Highzak 3 года назад +4

      @Ride The Tiger no comparison between white Irish indentured labourers and 400 years of slavery, colonialism etc that Africans been through..
      Ppl like you always try to trivialise the African Holocaust by talkin that crap about "we all were slaves"..!! Get outta here man, once the Irish immigrants in America became accepted as "white" they start show their true colors toward black ppl.. Go check history properly

      @@Higher_Sun_Highzak Bro cop on telling him to check his history when you clearly know nothing on the subject. I'm not speaking on the American bit but research how Irish culture has been completely wiped out. Ireland today is just an extension of Britain, it started with the plantations and finally today you have the full result. It was not endenturment as I hear so many of yous say, that was only after supply run out and they began importing more and more slaves from Africa. Whole towns were burned down and enslaved by Oliver Cromwell. Please do your research. Bless

    • @TakeMeBackPirateRadio
      @TakeMeBackPirateRadio 3 года назад

      @Ride The Tiger It was the Arawak/Taino natives that were colonised and enslaved by the Spanish. The fact this aspect is overlooked says it all. The Irish were enslaved along with people who were criminally convicted in Britain and sentenced to encampment in labour camps. The African slaves came mainly from West Africa by the South Sea Company a British company which was selling slaves to the Caribbean mainly to the Spanish from 1700s until collapse in 1853.
