Ldun and ldagang only upto to two years not beyond that. All decisions should be followed in letter and spirit ,anyone violating a committee of five gobas on rotational basis be formed to fine those who violate and there should be no discrimination on bases of shema,nono,kaga tongpa.Everyone should be treated equally and rules followed strictly. What is happening is different religious groups are speaking in different voices on a common cause.All groups should come on a common platform debate and discuss and come to a common conclusion and then chalk out dos and don'ts on all social changes and let these be adhered to strictly. Talk on issues such as drugs, alcoholism,land grabbing, environment ,garbage disposal, hawkers, beggars,and many more
What about the caste system just changing the house name will slove all the problems? the villagers already know they were the low caste and changing their names wouldn't change anything,
Now a days So many western culture r practicing in our ladakh like bride to be, bachelor party,pre wedding shot n cutting 3, 4 cakes in bagston... Thanks for all the Goba for taking good decision

One can have grand wedding or any ceremony but forcing someone to pay high amount which surpasses their income is not logical .. this will create more disparity in society n attending such wedding will become difficult day by day
Yes ,,, u r right nd as far as I am aware ,no one forces anyone to get the gift of particular price,,,, value of gift depends on the gravity of the relation and what the other party has gifted you on ur occasion....

To be honest…..I find it all rubbish…..if they really care about the Ladakhi society then they should abolish the caste problem in Ladakh…..we Ladakhi think that we are a casteless society and laugh at Hindus……but in reality we are in love with this division of kas,lonpo,tongpa,mon,etc…… In any marriage,function…all the people sit accordingly to their status which is absolutely rubbish….and surprisingly we are even very sexist ….in function ….the men sit in the front and the women and the end…and we even accept it and proudly say that it’s our tradition which is absolute bullshit
Very true lyy what you said about being sexist often times it's the women's the (aunties and grannys) who encourages these customs they won't let any males do household chores saying (thela nok ) it's all female's work and being a village girl I ofter hear people say that girls who're good at household work will get married "bahu ke naam pe naukarani chahea" boys are never taught how to cook or clean and the irony is it's ofter their mom's and granny's who told them not to the patriarchy still very exist in ladakh , and it should never be a part of our culture
