Hi Rachel I have just done the Monday senior class, and although not live I am adding a comment about resistance bands. I love using them and probably a half half class ( standing/mat). can't thank you enough (yes, I will buy a coffee, or 2 or 3). I used to do yoga, but following a nasty wrist fracture and knee replacement, multiple down dogs, etc just don't work for me anymore. I was going to sign up at a pilates studio, but as a 75 year old, I didn't want to get into that high glitz (and the cost). I've just finished PT for an aging shoulder rotator cuff. I'm amazed at the various exercises that address EXACTLY what I was taught at PT. I always feel good AFTER a workout, but yours is the one that makes me want to START the workout. Grateful!
I love your standing pilates. I'm 82 and still pretty limber but am losing my balance so really need these standing exercises. And I love your British accent! Thank you so much.
Looking for more "senior exercises". Just love your kindness. Makes me feel like a dancer again. Due to a neckcondition I can't use any band but that big big ball is great for my core/leg/back/balance. Could you show and inspire some exercises? It is so nice to have a friend by your side.

I am enjoying these Pilates sessions for seniors. I have never done Pilates before. I have been doing it for 2 weeks. Rachel, you are very encouraging! I do get confused sometimes coordinating my breath with the movements. I think I need more verbal cues.
Loved this class. I love these gentle workouts. They're very good at helping me manage pain. I like to mix the gentle workouts with somewhat more difficult classes. The all standing workouts are my favorite.

1st attempt today, found it very tiring. Proves how unfit I am only aged 56 and struggled. Had several surgeries on ankle, knee, chest & Back so struggle to do workouts. I will definitely be doing this again as it is definitely beneficial. Thanks

Thank you absolutely brilliant. The work on my arms and shoulders was difficult. I am sweating buckets. My arms are particularly challenging, so I will try and see if you have any other workouts for the arms.

The arm work is challenging and I'd recommend you come back and try again when you feel ready, just take it a little at a time, eventually you will be able to do the whole routine without feeling as challenged and thats when you know you've really grown in strength. Did this session this evening. I loved it. A nice gentle exercise and some that I had never done before like the alphabet arms and the breathing one side. Will do this session again and again. Thanks so much Rachel for all that you do. Sorry your staycation wasnt as good as you would have liked. Well not for Boo anyway! We have two rescue dogs that we bought last year but have not taken them away yet!
Hi Margaret, glad you enjoyed the session and new exercises- alphabet arms and one lung breathing. Delighted you’ll be doing the session again too 😊 Yes Boo didn’t like the hotel - too many other dogs! 🐕 As a rescue she gets nervous so we might wait a while before the next adventure! Someone suggested a dog friendly cottage which I think may be a better option. Might be worth considering for your two rescues 🐕🐕😊
You’re welcome Gretchen. We lose our balance as we get older but we can get it back, so please stay positive and add a little balance work into your daily practice. These exercises will help improve it for you and regular pilates will ease that stiffness too. Wishing you many more years of riding 😊
I’m on a staycation in Ireland for a few days, having lovely weather. I missed this live session yesterday, just thought I’d do this great session after sitting in the car while exploring the area and before getting ready for dinner. I’m all loosened up now thank you so much Rachel. xx
Hi Rachel this was great to get me back into my Pilates. Definitely felt like I had worked and I didn’t have to put to much pressure on my abs. I will do this a few more times and maybe a laying down seniors one. Ease myself back in
