Manvir Kaur could have tried to be a bit more civil. She came across quite condescending in how she shot down the political opinion of her guest. You have to engage with the idea and then challenge it. What you did sounded more like you are confirming your bias, or are somehow fearful of engaging with the idea by calling the opinion of your guest "fantasy". Its quite a sensitive issue, not cause of "violence that happened" but coz it is an idea FOR WHICH people resisted violence.

I spent all my life supporting Khalistan now retired and regret my decision. I live in Canada and a lot of the drug dealers are hiding under the flag of Khalistan. Young people of Punjab are leaving to other countries. So Khalistan for who and how. The real meaning of Khalistan is the land of the pure and which is far from the truth. Build Khalis inside first, wisdom, love and care for all, it will give us better results then picking fights with everyone.

This lady’s line of questioning falsely presumes that “documents” are needed to form an argument for a nation state. I agree. Due to her bias and hatred she utterly failed to engage with the thoughts of the guest. As a result, she ended up showing the inability to critically challenge the guest position and opinions.

Manvir Kaur could have tried to be a bit more civil. She came across quite condescending in how she shot down the political opinion of her guest. You have to engage with the idea and then challenge it. What you did sounded more like you are confirming your bias, or are somehow fearful of engaging with the idea by calling the opinion of your guest "fantasy". Its quite a sensitive issue, not cause of "violence that happened" but coz it is an idea FOR WHICH people resisted violence.

Throughout the entire interview Dr. Singh emphasized on the legitimacy of the Sikh claim, based on it. Punjab is a Sikh homeland, the remnants of the history permeate in Punjab; in what is defined as Punjabi identity, in Punjabi language, the valour that we know was shaped by Sikhi of Gurus. His points were poignant and adequate, maybe went over her head as she kept on repeating the same phrase.....which was hilarious to watch....I as a listener could see his frustration with the childish echolalia she was doing....repeating the same phrases over and over again. Even if it was an idea, the connotation of "fantasy" is aimed to ridicule the notion, which is pathetic attempt at disengaging cos of your own inadequacy to challenge it.

Young people of Punjab are leaving to other countries. So Khalistan for who and how. The real meaning of Khalistan is the land of the pure and which is far from the truth. Build Khalis inside first, wisdom, love and care for all, it will give us better results then picking fights with everyone.

This lady’s line of questioning falsely presumes that “documents” are needed to form an argument for a nation state. Nation states/countries are built on a share identity, which Panjabi Sikhs have but Indians do not, yet India is a country but Panjabi Sikhs need to provide documents? This is absurd and illogical.
