    you say you probably wouldn't do that at the end there live, but I say why not as a seriously glitchy outro. you can even add the freeze delay thing to really go crazy :D

    Cool stuff! Makes me wanna find/join a band and process the other players instruments/vocals live. Looks like much fun. In case you didn't know the shortcut for reloading the part is [Function]+[Cue]. You don't have to open the menu. :)

      Yeeesss I wondered if there was a shortcut but thought it was Mk2 only.

    Great video man! I’d be interested to see more of how you incorporate the octatrack with the live band setup

    • @CodyHazelleMusic
      @CodyHazelleMusic  3 года назад

      I can do that. I just played a gig with Octatrack and rytm, routing the synths, guitars and rytm back into the Octatrack so I could do filter sweeps and such

    Well as ever, you can either use these machines or you are completely in the dark, there doesn't seem to be a half way house. Watching the speedy button navigation is confusing but then life is I guess. Sold my first DPS-1, bought another one six months later but still frightened to enter into the dark portals of doom, it sits on the floor with the manual as a dust protector waiting....

    more vids please. Also, didn't get the A+B input setting. Why not just A?

    • @CodyHazelleMusic
      @CodyHazelleMusic  3 года назад

      If you use only input A, the Octatrack spits it back out only in the left speaker. If you use only input B, it would be in the right speaker.

    Hi there, thanks so much for this video. I wish there was more content on recording live vocals with the Octatrack.
    But my main question is your live sound sounding out of the speakers or are you on headphones. So that the mic only picks up the vocals and not what’s sounding off the monitors. If I’m playing live on stage and want to do this live, how do you isolate the vocals. Thanks so much I’m literally setting this up right now with a stealth cardioid mic into a preamp going into my A input.

    • @CodyHazelleMusic
      @CodyHazelleMusic  2 года назад

      You're bound to have a little bit of bleed in a live setting. I will tell you I haven't actually noticed when they are playing back in the mix. You can mitigate this with microphones that are better when sung up close like a 58 or 57

  • @ModernDevotion
    @ModernDevotion 3 года назад +2

    Set your input to just A , not a+b if you want a single input in mono.

    hi man, thanks for this. can I ask you an offtopic question: with what camera and cameramount did you record this?

    • @CodyHazelleMusic
      @CodyHazelleMusic  3 года назад

      Panasonic lumix G85. And I'm not really using a mount but a rod attached to a regular tripod.

    When or how did you slice it? I did not see you go in and set a slice or slice grid?

    • @CodyHazelleMusic
      @CodyHazelleMusic  3 года назад +1

      Yes I already had that flex track sliced ahead of time. Sorry I failed to mention that. I think I have it set to 16 slices and those will always stay there even if you record over that track. Very handy.

    Its a great shame how ugly the early models of these Elektron boxes are. Words fail to express how incredible they are, but they look awful and the new versions look so so so much better.
