In this area it doesn’t take much for a house to be over $1M. My neighbors house is smaller than mine and sold for $700,000 a couple years ago. I bought mine for $200,000 30 years ago and now it’s supposed worth near a million and it’s just an average 4 bedroom on a small lot, nothing special. The real estate market here is insane. He’s got 6 kids. He definitely needs a house bigger than mine.

@@charleschi843 there are sources for this if you look it up. I think it was the parsonage that the church owned and he bought it from them. I understand real estate may be high there. But it is a hard pill to swallow while reading the book Radical

How are you using your money to glory God? Are you doing more for Jesus than David?

The full context of the Ezekiel passage regarding Sodom….
As I live,” says the Lord God, “neither your sister Sodom nor her daughters have done as you and your daughters have done. Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty and committed abomination before Me; therefore I took them away as I saw fit. Ezekiel‬ ‭16‬:‭48‬-‭50‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Read the last verse…. Indeed, GOD “took them away” for the abomination they committed before him. It was not the sin of “sharing” as insinuated by this preacher.
And after such a world and man -centric message with an idol focus on money, this preacher, almost like an afterthought, squeaks in the Gospel, and even that not without a slant towards this eisogetic teaching. May GOD have mercy on those in attendance and grace them to seek truth and correctly interpret and apply the James passage.

The bible as a whole does not condemn riches ... the new testament does.... Does not Jesus our Lord and king ask us to follow His steps? or does He ask us to follow what tickles our years? Should we conform to patterns of this world with jobs and homes and cars? tvs? Egyptian/usa dinners or live as our ancestors and His true disciples?
