Great job my precious children on the coup. But my favorite part is seeing my beautiful grandbabies and the sheep. I am so proud of all of you. See you soon! Love You! Also I loved my handsome Son-Inlaws dance moves.

Loved all the pieces to the chicken coop. Saw the police patch for King County Sheriff. Husband was with them for 17 years!!! Now a program manager here at the academy. -31 with wind chill here with foot of snow on the ground. Stay warm and blessings

I just love how you honor the first responders and military. Do you consider sharing some of the letters? I think it would help the world to see the depth of service and humanity for these people and understand their sacrifices.
Thunder Ranch is Clint and Heidi Smith. Great people, He's one of the best Weapons and Tactics Instructor around, also a Marine. Heidi instructs as well, she is also an EMT with their local sheriffs department. When you get some free time, you should look them up. Stay Warm and thanks for the episode.

How about 2' of 1/2" hardware cloth all the way around the coop and the run & attach it to the bottom to keep critters from burrowing underneath. You could hold it down with gravel or rocks taken from the creek (that's the free stuff 😊). Just a thought.
@Julie Chave that will just keep out the larger predators but the rodents & snakes probably won't have much trouble going through the fencing material on the sides of the coop & the run.
I was going to suggest that very thing. Skunks will be the biggest threat to their birds. Powerful diggers and they are very common in their neck of the woods.
I assume that you are going to cover and latch the egg catcher - otherwise the bears, coyotes, ravens, and hawks will have breakfast before you guys. 😊
Great video. Thank you for brightening my day. It's been a bit of a rough one. Thank God I've got God & you guys, I really don't know how people do life without Him. God bless you all, stay safe
You guys need some of those 3 wheel bikes with basket in the back. That would make the trips a bit easier out and back. Would come in handy around the home stead. No gas required! Go from house to garden to get fresh veggies, eggs and what not! Great job on the chicken coop.
So so hard to get my head around this Vortek . I look behind you , and think , what a view !!!! You are both lucky . I f you want to call it that . I call it natural selection . You KNOW who you want , and they WANTYOU ! . It works !!!!! So good to see that " stress" between you , to bad more did not , take that energy , and use it wisely !!!! Good on you !!!!
(You may already be thinking this but)Just from my experience with neighbors with chickens, living in mt and wy, you'll probably want to put a hot wire around it to deter bears and other large predators otherwise they'll look at your coop like a buffet.
Those mountains are beautiful! Thanks to and God bless all of our first responders!! Freezing here in Western Washington - we're even getting some real McCoy snow! Awesome coop!!
You might want to consider putting fence 6-12 inches into the ground on the outside perimeter of your chicken coop to keep digging critters out of the coop. They WILL try to for sure. Just saying
Great idea...... along with all the others that suggested it. :) But I bet that ground is frozen solid and when it isn't they will put in defensive fencing for the flock. Remember when they put the railway ties in the garden they had to use the backhoe.
I actually love the reusable ziplock bag idea. I try to reuse my disposal ones when I can. Man, it's cold in Kansas too. Everyone's pipes are freezing and some people don't have heat because of a natural gas issue. We have a low of -13 on Monday, high of like 5. It's 1 degree as I write this.. I've never seen temps this low this far South.. But they say the biggest danger is house fires when it's this cold. Praying for everyone's safety 🙏 ❤ God Bless you
The patch outpour has been phenomenal, but for us viewers I would love to know where you are getting all of them from, when you get that many can you just run through them all and say where they came from so everyone kind of gets a shout-out from you who. Hey from Virginia. Are you going to add hurried wire around that coup. We usually burry up to foot to keep out skunks and possum that love to get into a coup and just kill chickens.
I'm in southern Virginia, and my neighbor found a couple with just the heads chewed off. I don't recall what did it, but he did say he had problems with skunks and raccoons getting in.
We had a weird thing happen years ago with my dad's chickens my dad kept them in a shed and was completely enclosed and I woke up one morning and went outside and I seen this hole that would have been true through solid wood perfect hoe I'm about 5 ft up off the ground there's nothing buy it to where something could get on there to chew it Dad went out there to check on this chickens and every one of them were dead
