That's perfectly normal because it's usually the case when you listen to a singer that is more skilled, vocally. No shade being thrown at Blackpink, they are truly amazing "entertainers" (the overall combination of singing, dancing, rapping, wardrobe, aesthetics, "swag", etc). However, objectively speaking, when focusing just on Blackpink's vocals... their vocal skills are only "good not great" when compared to others that are specifically known for their vocals. ie: Mamamoo, Red Velvet, Davici, etc, and in this case Cosmic Girl. This is not to say that one is definitively a better group than the other. It is just pointing out that when comparing only the vocal skills/talent, there are many singers who are simply more gifted than Blackpink. Hence, great vocalists can easily sing Blackpink songs and generally sound better.
Jooyi's skills are indeed too underrated in my opinion. it's not just skills, but she is so versatile at different genres, and is experienced enough to find her own voice for the songs she sings. She is the few people that makes me think that her covers are better than some originals, esp when it comes to mainstream pop songs.
