Chania (Greek: Χανιά [xaˈɲa] (listen); Venetian: La Canea), also spelled Hania, is a city in Greece and the capital of the Chania regional unit. It lies along the north west coast of the island Crete, about 70 km (43 mi) west of Rethymno and 145 km (90 mi) west of Heraklion.

We will be there Sept., last port to visit with Odyssey of the Sea. The town looks lively but I signed up to see historical buildings and ruins.

I’m not sure which is the most popular but there are some I could recommend… Dakos, Stifado, and mostly seafoods and grilled meat. ;-)

I'm from Chania and I can tell you/recommend you : Sfakiani pie, Kalitsounia with honey, Anthotiro, Staka, Mpougatsa etc!
