I fucking love this song. The vibes of foreboding desperation and bleakness that this gives off are immaculate. It's like you've been forced to go all out, to make one last stand. And no matter the outcome, win or lose, this will be the final battle.
You should listen to the original version, instead of desperation it’s more upbeat which gives it more of a “oh well it is what it is” feel to it which imo makes it even harder hitting

Despair. desperation. Yet, still fighting.
fighting an unwinnable battle not with the hero’s mindset of being sure you’ll prevail against all odds, instead you’re doubting every move and wondering “what was it all for?”
Rushing towards an end you never wanted and never saw coming.
This song encapsulates the feeling of trying your best when you know “your best” alone isn’t enough.

This is literally the musical embodiment of the "indomitable human spirit", when all hope is lost, all options were exhausted, when you have no other choice. Yet you still fight till the bitter end, until your body can't go on any longer, when the strength of your body is on its last legs. This. Is. Your. Final. Fight

This song almost sounds like a villain and hero that are equally powerful and desperate, in a final battle to the death, but it's hard to say which one is truly right or wrong. Like a villain that's grieving the loss of love, and has dedicated their life to changing the world as a result, and a hero who lost many friends to the villain, and is determined to give their life to stop them. But there's a sense of mutual understanding between them. No longer are they arguing about who's right, they both just want to win, by any means necessary, otherwise all their struggles and lost loved ones would be for nothing. Everyone is the hero of their own story, and sees themselves as right. I get all that emotion from just this song. Grief, determination, and understanding, in a final battle to the death. Oh, and whichever one wins would definitely bury the other out of respect, despite everything that's happened between them, if they don't both die, that is.
Dude that's what I'm thinking about! it's like the villain and the hero is having such an intense non-stop battle to the death
Make sure you remind me to credit you whenever I decide to write a story around that and I'm playing this song because that's brilliant 😂

Imagine a group of heros band together to defend humanity against a powerful alien race. As the alien leader powers up for a devastating final attack, the heros join forces in a last-ditch effort to save humanity. One by one, they fall in battle, leaving only the main protagonist to face the alien leader alone. Despite a valiant effort, the main hero is ultimately defeated, and humanity falls to the alien invaders. The world is left in ruin, a reminder of the cost of a battle fought with desperation and bravery.

And underneath the rumble was a hatch, caked by dust and debris. A sound of metal scratching against itself broke the deathly silence. It stuttered open and a child, no older than 17 years of age, emerged. She pulled herself up, dusted herself off, and stiffened when she witnessed black streams of smoke painting the red orange sky. Amongst the wreckage were toppled trees, broken buildings, and empty streets. Not a single living being was seen nor heard. Feeling as if her heart was just about ready to jump out of her body, her legs propelled her forward through the destruction. With no apparent destination in mind, she found comfort in what she knew how to do her whole life; to run, to leap, and to take flight.

The composer actually commited suicide after releasing his last album … even the lyrics to this song speak to his depression, he was struggling for a while and vocaloid was his voice of truth, the way he spoke through his heart what he couldn’t with words…
I heard about the truth. KENTENSHI is not the real person who composed this. It's siinamota, the person who committed suicide. Now, my question is: Why was he depressed? Why did he commit suicide at the age of twenty years old? We actually don't know how he deceased, but we believe he took his own life. To me, it is a bit strange to think about it, it kind of brings some chills to me.
side note: it is also believed this song is a suicidal last message cry, and it adds up to it. we will probably not know what made him depressed and suicidal. i mean, we don't know if he was drove by bullies and harrasment into depression and insanity, or if it was some life changing trauma of his. nonetheless, God bless his soul in heaven.

I love all of the comments describing the tone of the song cause they're absolutely correct. The sample used in the song is famously that of siinamota, a vocaloid music producer who is now passed away through suspected suicide. The song young girl a is the one that has the sample and is essentially entirely about some sort of final breaking point leading to something they are afraid of. It's really heartbreaking but it's a good listen, and probably what they would've wanted.

This song reminds me a lot of Hopes and Dreams from Undertale, a banger finale. But the difference is that Hopes and Dreams gives off, well, hopes and dreams. But this feels like all hope is lost and your just squeezing all the energy you have left
YEAH
1:04 This part always make me think about someone, wondering if it's even worth to keep going. Someone who wonders if it's worth the trouble. Someone who wonders if it's worth the fight. They think about all they have lost, and all they have now. They wonder, if they should even continue.
They start to think about giving up. It's hopeless to them. Yet, they continue to try. They can't even answer why.
They just know they have to keep fighting, even if it's one they probably would've preferred not doing. They can't go out now though, can they?
(Sorry for writing so much. This song just gets me like that.)
this very much gives me "last ditch effort" vibes in the way that, while something heroic is happening, there isn't much hope in a good outcome. trying for the sake of trying, not for the sake of winning. in a moment where, your efforts wont matter in the grand scheme of things, is there really a point in not doing anything? why not just push a little harder, even if it is in fact ultimately meaningless. maybe the simple fact that you did your best may comfort your restless soul.
This song is the embodiment of those moments where you try to delay the inevitable, when you know there's nothing you can do to stop such a disaster, but you still try it, even though you're just too weak to do anything against the destruction that event is about to cause.
The feeling of this song... Is indescribable. Just like desesperatión. Anger. Sadness. The last attempt to make things right. It gives you the feeling that you are fighting an unwinnable fight whole you know that, but you keep on fighting, why? Because of desesperation to make things right. You are trying your best in an infinite loop, and you don't wanna let go of it. You keep on fighting and fighting, but where does it all end?
