One of the best shows I've seen guys. Aside from the incredible fishing and fishery that LOTW is, the scenery alone is enough of a reason to watch this episode. It's indescribably beautiful.
I've been a faithful IDO follower for years now and I got to say, James and Pat always make the best shows. Pat is excellent on camera and always entertaining. James, you're the best. That goes without saying. Thanks fella's!
@@InDepthOutdoorsTV thank you guys for keeping this lake secret, summer casting will blow your mind at what appears, 100s of hours spent on this gem of a lake, have every rock and weed bed on the lake mapped out, feel free to reach out if you want a summer guide, have pictures to prove what I’ve caught in here. There are fish in here that will challenge world records. Deep, crystal clear, small dirt road, incredible body of water. *** ***** ;)
Looks like Bob Ross pulled thru like a Boss !!!!!!.... I've gotta share this vid with a buddy of mine who we've both decided to try musky fishing for the 1st this upcoming season (Note that we hardly ever fish in general)..... Although it might sound crazy but - I've bought a boat & acquiring as much Gear as possible due to the influence this show has given me.... especially when you're in the Duluth to Hayward area as We're from Superior
Wicked show guys. I think I'll be doing my first musky trip next fall. As for ice fishing, come north(MB). Going for tigers and maybe bows and browns this weekend on the ice. Bigger lakes not frozen yet, but soon.
great show. I just got back from a Muskies Canada "outing" on the French River. biggest caught was a 53. mine was a paltry 37.... all our fish were contacted trolling 10 and 14 inch Jakes Cheers
jake john in walden colorado has massive rainbows and big browns in crystal clear water but has not iced up yet but within a month it should have safe ice
Just watched this again. Yeah, you guys easily had over 200 inches of muskie in the boat that day. That has to be some kind of record day's muskie catch.
that's why you go by yourself. either you catch em or nobody does. nothing worse than getting skunked while your buddy is having a field day 2 feet in front of you
We usually like to close out the end of ice season with a nice pike episode, somewhere near the tail end. Last year we did great on Sioux Narrows, we may go back to that area.
Drop the plastic Scotty rod holders. You pull Parry's or Plows at 4.0mph and hit a rock or fish they will snap. Downeasters. Best rod holders out there.
That's great to hear about the speed you were trolling at. I, too, have caught muskies in late Nov trolling at the same speeds. Everyone thinks you have to slow way down and use suckers for muskies in the late fall but that's just not true!! As Buck Perry said, you have to control your depth and speed. Sometimes that speed isn't slow.
I'm thinking a couple weeks yet. With the rain and warm temps headed towards the Midwest tonight / tomorrow what little ice that's out there is going to be sketchy at best.
James Holst yeah no kidding, all the snow here in duluth is now gone, and we wont see hardwater here for at least a few weeks, actually just hoping to get out by christmas!
I just bought my first boat my mission is a 50 no more bass pike ive caught em all iknow where they are i fired up already ican literally see em im buyin wat your using im using way to small im trollin wat icall muskey aley its on
Not sure if I missed it during the show, but did you guys mention the water temperature you were fishing? I'm wondering if there's still time for me to go out and get one :)

Bob Ross!!!! FTW!!! Loved that show when I was a kid; great show guys, hard to be sad when you're pulling in great fish like that!!
Doesn't get much better than fishing at Lake of the Woods. That lake has trophy sized fish everywhere
Thank you! And you are correct!

Great show ! Keep up the good work!
Nice some BIG Boy's.. Much Lov Cat Master Catfishing.
I love your show
we have been on index island since the late 40s as a family. don't bring too many people up there. LOL good people at crawford camp.
one day i will go to the states and fish for musky. For sure
That is amazing. I need to go to fishing school or quit fishing miserable lakes.
Love the comment! We all had a laugh. Thanks for that!
good show guys keep it up
Thanks!
Incredible show guys.......I am curious if you had any more action after you stopped filming?
Pat stayed back for another day and a half, and he ended with an additional 13. That is THIRTEEN! Just crazy.
@21:45 it almost looks like the musky goes for james' hand!
Not gonna ice up in Nebraska for a while if you guys are looking for areas to get on open water
Awesome show boys!
Thanks
A big fan of your work! A quick little question, what make and model of boat is that, I love the room you guys have in there with the tiller!
Pat McSharry Yes it looks like a real gem of a boat and with a yamaha, can't go wrong! thanks for the reply :)
Love that Boat!
wow awesome fish great show !
Nice show :-)
That was So COOL!
that's why you go by yourself. either you catch em or nobody does. nothing worse than getting skunked while your buddy is having a field day 2 feet in front of you
Awesome day!
A little disappointed you guys couldn't get a tape on some of those fish but I understand you can't handle them too long
great show..perfect timming
Great fish ! But you seemed salty lmao
Simply Amazing!
Thanks!
I was wondering if you guys were going to do a northern pike show on the Ice.
We usually like to close out the end of ice season with a nice pike episode, somewhere near the tail end. Last year we did great on Sioux Narrows, we may go back to that area.
Ok ty
I don't know if you guys have tried it yet or if you don't want too but, Musky Mayhem makes really good musky lures, check them out.
awsome f-ing show
I never catch muskies when Im fishing for them, its only when I am using 12 lb line with a tiny crank bait I seem to catch them
Are those citrix or komodos? I love my citrix its caught me fish casting and trolling this year. That clicker is super nice
These were Komodos. Great reels for the money.
what rod holders/rails are those?
the last fish was a tank.
What pound line are they using
can you do an ice fishing vid in south Dakota big stone lake
We will likely be somewhere in SD once we have ice this year!
ok
That shadow rap ad lol
Drop the plastic Scotty rod holders. You pull Parry's or Plows at 4.0mph and hit a rock or fish they will snap. Downeasters. Best rod holders out there.
you should consider a colab with uncut angling
How far off bottom are you pulling your lures?
There is no real simple answer, our presentations in this episode ranged from 1 foot off the bottom to 30 feet off the bottom.
What speed were you guys fishing at.
That's great to hear about the speed you were trolling at. I, too, have caught muskies in late Nov trolling at the same speeds. Everyone thinks you have to slow way down and use suckers for muskies in the late fall but that's just not true!! As Buck Perry said, you have to control your depth and speed. Do you guys have any idea when or where your first ice show will be?
Theres a couple of lakes in Ely with close to 3 inches
I'm thinking a couple weeks yet. With the rain and warm temps headed towards the Midwest tonight / tomorrow what little ice that's out there is going to be sketchy at best.
James Holst I would hope so. The weather does look nasty for us ice anglers... Cant wait for the your guys next video, tight lines.
53 degrees here to start the day and rain. What ice we had is now long gone. Oh well. Time to go hook up the boat!
James Holst yeah no kidding, all the snow here in duluth is now gone, and we wont see hardwater here for at least a few weeks, actually just hoping to get out by christmas!
How do they not measure those monsters? I'm just too curious and wanna know
ICE FISHING SEASON SOON!!!!!!!
I hate ice fishing. I'm glad others do it so I don't have to. lol
ALERT ALERT!
Don't take me to seriously. lol
Jokin lol
What areas are were the guys fishing. Ex. drop offs, reefs, weeds, rip rap, etc
Rock walls.
I just bought my first boat my mission is a 50 no more bass pike ive caught em all iknow where they are i fired up already ican literally see em im buyin wat your using im using way to small im trollin wat icall muskey aley its on
Why can't you ice fish for musky? Is it to do with seasons?
You can, however where we are based in Minnesota the season is closed in the Winter.
Not sure if I missed it during the show, but did you guys mention the water temperature you were fishing? I'm wondering if there's still time for me to go out and get one :)
***** Awesome, thanks :)
When will you start icefishing
As soon as there's safe ice we'll switch over. Things are NOT looking good for the next 7 - 10 days.
ok
He just said he doesn't use the 10-inch Jakes anymore he uses 13 or 14 in lures and then he pulled a 10in jake out of its mouth
How long were the leaders you were using?
Pat McSharry Thanks
Pat McSharry b
Hank Smith
There is no way to show on a camera how big those fish actually are
