Go t7 equivalents for now if you're still learning carving's playstyle! fiend cowl / mist jacket (4.3) / soldier boots. You can swap to tenacity jacket as well, it comes down to preference
Difficult question to answer because it comes down to MY experience fighting different weapons/builds. I prefer Inferno Shield against: Deathgivers,Badons, Spears and sometimes battleaxes and carvings. Against cultist cowl + stalker jacket, I find mist cloud very effective tho!
