isn't this case only to transport? I always take it out and discard the case until strike. then put it back in there....

I have the same mixer, same case, and same concerns - it's not good enough for the job. I considered rebuilding the case the other way around, so the back of the mixer was the open side. But then I saw how easily it skittered across the desk. Now I just take it out of the case every week.
