  • Some of you have been asking about how to count the number of stitches in the magic ring and where to place those clusters for the daisy petals of the Cozy Days Daisy Blanket 🌼 I hope this video helps explain it!
    When you slip stitch to the first single crochet to close the round, that slip stitch overtakes the stitch below it. Thus, you work a cluster in that slip stitch and the 11 other stitches (not including the stitch that got overtaken by the slip stitch)!
    Find the free crochet pattern on my blog here (link to Lion Brand kit as well): www.allaboutam...

    After making a handful of successful daises and then all of the sudden ending up with 13 petals no matter how many times I counted 12 stitches, this video saved me. Thank you for making this, and I’m glad I saw it before I decided to light all of my yarn on fire😹

    Hello, I'm having some trouble with how my daisies are looking, I think it's the hook. I used an 8mm hook as you recommend, but the yarn you use is for 6.5mm hooks, how are you getting it to look so tight? Could it be that there's a measuring difference between US mm and EU mm?

    • @AllAboutAmiBlog
      @AllAboutAmiBlog  11 месяцев назад +2

      Hi there! If the hook size is shown in mm then they would be the same! I used an 8 mm hook even though the 6.5 mm is recommended for this yarn. I intentionally used a larger hook to get more drape for this blanket, and to also ensure that I got larger granny squares (rather than getting really tight and smaller granny squares). I would compare your granny square final dimensions with mine: if yours are much larger (meaning you crochet more loosely than I do and our tension is different), you could try going down a hook size and using the 6.5 mm hook!

    Is the stitch that’s overtaken by the slip stitch the first stitch in the round?
    And for the following round, does that first stitch get a cluster? Or not because it was overtaken? I’m not sure why I’m having so much trouble with this!

    • @AllAboutAmiBlog
      @AllAboutAmiBlog  Год назад

      Yes the stitch that’s overtaken by the slip stitch is the first single crochet in the round! The slip stitch gets the cluster since it overtook the stitch below it!

    No matter how tight I pull it, or how many I make, the centre of the daisies just won't completely close ): I don't know what I am doing wrong. It's a tiny little gap in the center everytime. So frustrating!! And I don't understand what we are supposed to do with all the loose strings

    • @AllAboutAmiBlog
      @AllAboutAmiBlog  Год назад +4

      Are you using the same yarn and hook size that I did? You can crochet over those loose ends and then weave them in the opposite direction for added security. I’ve got some short videos you can check out in which I demonstrate how to do this!

    Hi Stephanie, your videos and patterns are so helpful and fun! This doesn’t matter, but I am a 11 year old crocheter and I am trying to figure out your amigurumi elephant pattern. I'm working on the final round of the square and i keep ending up with 9 dc across instead of 10. Ive pulled it out and redone multiple times, is anyone else experiencing this?

    • @AllAboutAmiBlog
      @AllAboutAmiBlog  3 дня назад

      If you are ending up with 9 dc, you are probably accidentally skipping two double crochets at the beginning of the side! One of the double crochets usually gets “hidden” behind the corner stitches, so that is the one you need to skip 👍🏻

  • @tarlanmojarad4718
    @tarlanmojarad4718 Год назад +1

    How should I know which one I should skip and not work through?

    • @AllAboutAmiBlog
      @AllAboutAmiBlog  Год назад +2

      You should work through the stitches that are single crochets from the round below but not the ones that are chain 1’s or slip stitches!

  • @Brego100
    @Brego100 4 месяца назад

    Whenever I skip that “overtaken” stitch, I end up with a bigger gap between those petals. If I count the holes under the stitches, I always have thirteen. It just looks wrong, like there should be a petal in that gap. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Once I just counted that last “overtaken”
    stitch as #12 and crocheted into it, and I didn’t have a gap. I am so confused!

    • @AllAboutAmiBlog
      @AllAboutAmiBlog  4 месяца назад

      Have you tried pulling the final yarn tail of the circle tighter once you’ve worked the petals? It helps to reduce that gap that might form!
