This is really sad. Maria made a poor choice in the heat of the moment after months of build-up. In my opinion, her sentencing should’ve been house arrest and restitution only, maybe community service and therapy, but certainly not prison. She should’ve been able to raise her children at prime ages of their lives, and they suffered not only from their father’s choices, but also the court’s choice in her judgment. I’m not excusing Maria’s poor choice, but the punishment does not fit the crime especially when considering the home life for the children. As an added thought, it’s hilariously ironic that Lisa works diligently for DV causes now, yet she is just peachy keen a-okay with destroying the family life of others by having an ongoing affair, knowing he was a married man with children at home. She shouldn’t have been involved in an accident, however she certainly is not innocent in this case; and in fact, she is the root cause.
