Yeah this game was made to be simple enough for people who only play RPG's to at least wrap their minds around and get into it, but technical enough to satisfy fighting game players. They hit a pretty good balance.

The Evoker is meant to.. well, Evoke, that life or death feeling, and force the Persona to appear. It's stated in Mayonaka Arena that the Shadow Ops have trained to the point where they technically no longer need their Evokers to summon their Persona's (even the part time members added to the roster in Ultimate Suplex Hold, Yukari and Ken/Koromaru), they can just will them into appearing, even in the real world. So the Evoker is more of a flourish for them now.

I actually never did Edit: I was 10 yrs old att, a little 1997 ash Ketchum, those trials made my thumb bleeding and I still have the callus

It mainly takes the sound tracks from persona 3 and 4, but has some originals and from some spinoffs. Also, you should definitely check out the rest of the persona series (and maybe even smt if you want something more dark, difficult, and philosophical). Btw there are only 2 fighting games in the series, the rest are different types of rpgs (usually with great stories and characters).

@@xxfloppypillowxx I haven't played imagine or many of the games yet, but for starters I would recommend smt nocturne and iv if you wanna play a mainline game. Smt v also just came out for switch, and while the story wasn't anything special, the gameplay was great. If you want spinoffs that are similar soul hackers or any of the persona games (I either recommend you start with p1 and work your way up so that you don't get mad about not having certain things in future persona games or start from p5 and work your way down if you wouldn't mind each game losing certain gameplay aspects as you go down). For spinoffs that are different from mainline, I recommend the enhanced remasters of the 2 devil survivor games (they aren't related and devil survivor overclocked is my favorite smt game if you wanted my opinion). I'm also playing through the raidou kuzunoha games which are rlly fun. Sorry for writing a lot, but these are the games I recommend most. If you want a shorter version: Smt nocturne, iv, v, personas 1-5, devil survivor overclocked, devil survivor 2 record breaker, raidou kuzunoha games.
Charge characters are my kryptonite too. Thankfully KOF XV made them easier by lowering the charge time from the usual 2 seconds, to 1 - 1.5 seconds, or something like that
a 1.5s charge is still super long, Vatista in uni has a 60+ frame charge time and she's distinctly a long charge time character. Usually you're looking at ~45 frames for charge moves and KoF has typically been on very low end with charge time being 20-30 frames
them not giving you the demo video for challenge 25 will forever be funny to me. what's better is that you can actually get it without doing it but you gotta give them money first
They may have charge moves but they aren't charge characters. Mitsurus entire combo game is based on charging. Meanwhile sho is rushdown and kanji is a grappler
Shabrys also has 2 charge moves with her persona. One of which was(is??) essential to her mixup game since she could essentially loop the setup after you got caught once.
Oh that trial. LMAO. So the funny thing about that. When the game was previously released. They made all the demos for the final trials DLC. You had to pay to get those examples. XD

Chie ends up being more of a physical skill/crit striker as she levels up, but early on she's gonna be the most reliable source of ice spells until Teddie joins the party, then he becomes the ice specialist. Whether or not they're cool is up to personal taste, though Teddie is voice by Sam Riegel and that automatically makes him a force of chaos incarnate. 3:00 The titles are there to mock them, it's explained in the story mode for the first game, so you'll see stuff like "The bloodcurdling beefcake emperor" or "The carnivore that's discarded womanhood" alongside stuff like "The heartless armed angel", "The unconquerable snow black". Yu's is a reference to how his cousin, Nanako, refers to him as 'Big Bro' instead of cousin.
EX and Special moves do consume meter, just considerably less meter so you can basically spam supers. Also, shadows can never have 150 meter and they do less damage than the normal variants.

Technically you can play the game purely with auto combos and maybe some quick persona moves. But there's always gonna be a guy who knows how to block. That one, singular guy in the lobby. Nobody else but him.
For anyone new coming into P4AU, 2 things, number 1: it's not DBFZ easy where it's just nothing but quarter circles, it has some motions that force you to actually try, and 2: combo trials in the beginning may be easy, but the ending is pain and suffering, so imo if you just want to complete the trials the game gives you, just do numbers 1-24

the persona 2 duology took a lot from JoJo, like the cool ways that the conflicts happen/are solved. also JP Dio voice actor is the same of the protag, who can also timestop.
