Just bought a used one of these (PC3 76) for use at college. RUclips demos convinced me it is still very good by today’s standards. Can’t bring my Motif XF8. Nice playing!
It is from Classic Keys expansion, available for PC2/PC1 models. In terms of sound palette PC3 doesn't add very much to PC1/2 series. But it has got more modern features.
@@PigiAkeys Yes, I had the PC2 (with Classic Keys and Orquestral Roms) but I sold it. I miss the CP80 Gabriel's Melt sound and the keybed(although they stick on each other, when you turn the keyboard on lol). I have now Yamaha MODX but the CP80 is not so good(it misses the chorus and more effects that I don't know how to edit it to get close to Kurzweil sound), and the keybed, oh my, that sux a lot - it's like a plastic toy key! I'm always looking for a good used PC3... but it's hard to find it where I live, in good condition!
@@fnonaka I see. Really? Mmh it's very strange that there isn't any possibility to assign chorus to the cp80 voice. Check it again. On the contrary, I own PC2 full expanded but it's fine for the studio while I find it too heavy for gigs. I've seen the MODX7 as a possibility in the future. :)
@@PigiAkeys Hi, Pierluigi. I also think the sounds heavy. To improve the sound, you can set to the equalizer. I reduce the cutoff to -18db around 49Hz and -2db at 261Hz. It makes the sounds more light and clean. It looks like great for me. 😉
PC3K has the same VAST synthesis as PC3 but with addition of a 128 MB flash memory board for user samples. PC3K can load K2600's presets and samples while PC3 can load presets but no additional sample. PC3 and PC3K have 128 polyphony voices. 😢
I have performed with the PC3X for many years now, and I bought the PC4 because it had much lighter weight (28 lbs) and they had moved the mod and pitch wheels to the upper left side, eliminating the length required to move it around. I can't emphasize HOW MUCH it didn't sound as great as the PC3X. I could give you a huge list of bad changes it has. the most important thing that sucks is the Keyboard itself. Not a Fatar model_ some other manaufacturer. It makes natural arpeggiations much moe difficult. I can't remember the name of the "temporary mistakes" that it has. Sounds are much more contemporary. Orchestral sounds seriously "wet" and can be in multi sample usage with the sounds. Some sounds can't subtract the room sound they have. I am on week two of trying to emulate the PC3 sounds, but it looks like the only way Ithats going to happen is if I take the acual sound samples from the PC3X. you will find Pc3 series have lost a minor amount of resale value, but if you play in a band that hauls its own, well everything, you will be hard pressed by the other band members to go "heavy"again. As a footnote I sold the first Kurzweil K250 keyboards and they were not only expensive ($10, 750.00) they were heavy.I would nee to google it tp be more specific. Made by Ray and his team, they were also like high-End Cars. You had a waiting list and could not deviate from thelist price( if you were chosen to be a Kurzweil partner.) Go with a PC3X if you want to have a real-time symphony like the sound that was presented in this performance. I do NOT recommend the PC4,for the keyboaard change alone. I am kind of stuck with it for Live performance now. I wish I still owned my B-3 and 147 Leslie for kicks (to TRULY Torture the other guys in the band). I enjoyed this performance and will be looking for more. this is only my opinion.
@@PhilippeKappel Well, so you and I are maybe lucky if we have such a gadget as PC3 in our household)) And I was able to buy a new PC3K8, which had been lying in the Store without packaging for 8 years... And I was able to additionally grab the new GERMAN GRAND D and KORE64, which are being prepared for installation. Good luck!
My friend, how did you connect the audio output from pc3 for this recording? When I connect p10 cables to the analog outputs of my pc3 to the amplifiers, the sound quality is not as good as it sounds from the headphones. Thanks!
As explained in video description, I recorded the PC3 from 24-bit SPDIF digital output, I never recorded from its analog line outputs. Your problem may be due to interference in power supply.
Try searching tutorials. This video is about playing sounds. It's complicated because all parameter edits are in the menu where just about everything has to be assigned. Once it's learned however, you'll never find a synth (and I mean SYNTH) that can compare to these works of beauty.
Ok, Kurzweil PC3 sounds fantastic, but there is no doubt you make it shine even in 2020🤩
Just can't stop listening to you play. It is so beautiful.

@Phillip Koppel. What's the difference between the PC3 and PC3K. And how much polyphany does the PC3 have??

@Phillippe Kappel. I was thinking about. picking one up a guy has in this studio for 600$. Would you recommend it. Its a PC3??
Maravilhoso!!!

Somebody knows, what is the last song?
The last song from 12:45 to end is an improvisation. Some passages resemble the 1976 Blue Bird.
Does PC4 have these patches too? Thanks for the demo.
I don't know for PC4. Thanks.
PC4 have the same or similiar (better) . otherwise you can import sounds without any problem from pc3
I think so, but with another name. For ex, Gabriel's Melt I think it's PG's melt in PC4! But not sure!

Hi Dude. Is the CORE64 installed there already?
No.

Hi, great playing, which kurzweil pc3 exact model is this?
Kurzweil PC3 classic, 76 notes, recorded in 2010, the Kore64 card did not yet exist.
Philippe Kappel - well, honestly it sounds awesome! Must save up for one of these 😂
Is this the same as the Kurzweil PC3 Le6?
No.
Useless videos of this keyboard all over RUclips🤦♂️ can somebody make a useful video about this keyboard for once this thing is hard to understand.
