As someone who doesn't speak Shona I am amazed at how inviting Jah Prayzah's music is. He embodies the songs more than sings them & this element opens up a portal for non-native speaks to feel at home with the song. His ability to perform his songs in different registers live is astonishing for a popular artist who require all kinds of pyrotechnics to mask their inability to perform live. I also love his stubbornness or fidelity to his idea of music because he tried to be a popular artist back in the days by doing songs with big names & ironically by avoiding that shallow path he's as big as those artists.

It is a common surname among the Kikuyu people, the largest ethnic group in the country. Furthermore, George has stated in a comment on a different video here that he is from Kenya.
