I loved the little balls of ice cream but did not want to spend the time to make them. So I softened the ice cream a tiny bit, dumped it out of the container in one piece, then cut it into slices. Had the whole tray filled in about 3 minutes. Slices are about 2x4x1 inches. They are so easy to eat in a nice slice.
We use a small cookie scoop to scoop out the frozen ice cream or yogurt right onto parchment paper lined trays. That works really well. We also cut ice cream sandwiches into bites and fd them. They are a favorite of our grandchildren.
Try a funnel or a pastry bag with a large tip. What a great idea to use those little molds. I'm just learning and am close to ordering my medium 5-tray Harvest Right Freeze Dryer and am getting excited about it. I'm definitely going got try ice cream - and will be ordering those molds.
@@DIYfreezedry I'm thinking that if you freeze the ice cream in the molds and then remove them before putting them on the freeze dryer trays, one tray could hold more and they might hold their shape. Something to try.
Sound is better. More of an indoor vs outdoor or empty room echo sound. Alaska looks beautiful except needing blackout curtains during those daylight night hours.
I'm trying starburst right now with these. Probably a bad plan since they're a pain already. Also I didn't realize how small these molds were until I had them in my hand. You can actually fit 4 of them on a tray but then it's just enough sticking over the side to make it difficult to fit into the machine. I think I might try trimming the edges so I can fit them more easily. We'll see 🤣
I did a 21hr freeze dry on my ice cream it was WAY to long it was so dry and glass like it was to dry 13\14hrs is fine RR puffs because of the marshmallow
I don’t have a discount code - but I earn a small commission for items purchased through my link so I always appreciate when viewers choose to do so 😍 The current sale with Harvest Right is $300 off and free shipping. The shipping can be expensive so it’s actually a great deal right now!
I couldn't tell a difference in the sound. Sorry the ice cream wasn't as successful as hoped for. I tried ice cream sandwich bites once and was totally disappointed, so I haven't tried anything ice cream since. Lol Thanks for sharing your experience! Enjoy your videos.
Haha yes totally still was fun to do but not how I hoped 😆 I didn’t notice much sound difference either when I listened back, I may try getting a microphone! We will see! Thanks for the comment and watching 🥰🥰
We won’t get those back until later in the year 😢 but we had the most amazing ones last year that were breathtaking. Hoping to get to enjoy more and get some good video!
Rocky road gas marshmallows..they expand.
I just subscribed, I’m a new Freeze dryer…having a ball at 72 years old.
Oh yay!! Thanks for following along. It’s so much fun

Do you think if I freeze them in the molds it will keep from making the mess and work better?
Yes that probably would work better!!
@@DIYfreezedry thanks!
@@DIYfreezedry have you used the molds for anything else?
@@JenniferClements-vw6yf no I haven’t I’m thinking freeze dried jello could be fun on them too

Anything with sugar she fully enjoys 😂😂 I do need to catch up on housewives lol!
The best ice cream to do is a strawberry shortcake ice cream popsicles

Yogart bites would work great in the moulds.
@@charoletteyanos5825 I need to try that!

Great thanks for the info! And yes we definitely have to have the blackout shades in our rooms 😆 but it works!

I love ice cream sandwich bites
Where did you get the table your freeze dryer is on?
I got this from Fb marketplace but I have seen similar style at Costco! I love that it’s on wheels and has the lower shelf
Did u warm the trays ?
No I didn’t for the ice cream
I'm guessing waiting for/watching the aurora borealis.

Why dont you ever use the dry mode on quick dry?
Ive never really experimented with quick dry.... so I don't have a good answer. I should try it out though!
I wanted to go to Taylor Swift so bad 😊
Would be so fun!!
Use a icing piping bag next time or a baggie and cut e the corner.😁
Great tip! thank you!
You could of done yogurt drops and to get it into molds maybe a type of squeeze bottle and the video sound was louder. As for TS thats a hard pass 😂
😂😂 yes a squeeze bottle would be great thx for the ideas!!!
They expanded cuz they weren’t frozen
I think you are tired because you were on the internet late last night.
Yes that was actually true 😂
You talk WAAAAAYYYY too much about stuff not pertaining to the video!!
Rude, you can just keep scrolling
