I have been sewing for over 50 years and this is the first time I have come across this method. Thank you so much for these tutorials. You can teach an old dog new tricks.
Fun, but not fast, Lol. This bag is adorable but scared the wazoo out of me as I’m sort of a beginner in sewing. I absolutely love the one sided zipper idea. Two thumbs up from me. 👍🏻👍🏻❤️Thank You for sharing.
As a novice I've been drawing lines to sew straight. Not sure why it made me smile to see a pro who does the same. I guess I feel it gives me permission to continue marking my lines as long as I want. 😊
Your camera angles are getting closer and closer, and the lighting is also perfect, not too bright, which makes it very comfortable to watch, thank you so much for the effort. Your technique is just so neat.
I really appreciate your commenting on the camera angles and lighting as I tend to really obsess about both. Sometimes it takes me longer to get everything where I like it to be than it does to film...lol. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing this technique! I've always thought there must be an easier way to make boxed corners and attach the lining. You showed me how and for that I am thankful.
I am definitely going to give this a try. I was really fascinated with how those folds came together to make that bottom. That is cool. All of your directions were so precise I know I can do this. Lol
This bag is amazing, thank u so much. I was literally going to make a bag using another tutorial for a open wide pouch. Yours is so much more open. As always clear easy to follow instructions. Thanks your great teacher and seamstress thanks for passing that along to us.
Fantastic tutorial - would never have thought of this technique. And your binding is so unscary 😂! I love your attention to detail and clear instructions. Thank you.
Thank you sew very much for sharing this tutorial. You are an excellent teacher! I really appreciate your clear instructions for each step of the process. Also, your camera skills make it that much better!! Very thorough! ❤
VERY pretty pouch. I would have NEVER picked that fabric, yet it looks so good put together like that. The only thing I dislike about the construction, is that tab being left in the bag. WHY do it like that? Having a regular construction of the zipper, would be easier, and better, in my opinion.
I'm excited to get some of these cut out! My niece needs some bags to organize summer travel supplies (couch surfing the relatives, lol). I'm thinking of doing the bases out of a matching solid and changing up the side pieces so she can tell them apart (and we can tell her which bag to pull out).
Awesome video tutorial. I made this little pouch, the continuous zipper looked amazing the way you put it in and my binding has never turned out so well. TY for all your precise advice. Great job!! Can't say enough.
I'm looking for some items to sew for an upcoming craft fair and this one is perfect. I love the continuous zipper and you make it look so easy. I'm hoping to pair this little pouch with your tissue holder. I know my customers will love them. Thank you so much and as always your teaching skills are the best.
what a great tutorial! I love this continuous zipper and can see how I could adapt the idea to use in other bags and pouches because your instructions and camera angles are so clear. Thank you so much for this!!
Great tutorial as always! I enjoy making your project designs. Your instruction is always right on point. This little pouch is so cool. Thank you, Rosie!
OMG this looks so complicated ! I want to make a continuous pouch but there are only 2 tutorials on youtube. Rosie, please show us how to make something less complicated, without the binding and still have a hanging zipper. I have watched all your tutorials, you do them so well. Please!
I’ve just found you and so glad I have, your tutorials are perfect👌🏻, you explain and describe well, your instructions are brilliant, I like making things like this for myself and to make gifts, look forward to creating some of your projects, you cover all angles of what I look for in a great sewing tutorial. 💕 Perfect ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I absolutely love this little pouch. It comes together so easily and really looks good. One problem I'm having is my lining is a little baggy when I turn it. Do you have a method for eliminating this problem? Should I sew the lining just a little smaller. Thanks.
Rosie - Love this bag. I read the questions, but could not see if you said where to buy this type of zipper. Is this zipper on a roll? Or is it just a very long zipper? Thank you! I just found your videos today. You are a great teachers. Thank you.
You do an excellent job explaining each step. Thank you so much for doing this video. I do have a question. When doing the final stitching of the binding, how do you keep the double sided tape from gumming up your needle? I used 1/8” double sided tape (by Annie’s)on a recent project and it crossed my side seams. Just two stitches across it gummed up my needle instantly.
I like this bag pouch. I especially love your choice of fabric colors. Do you have trouble getting the paper off of the seam tape? I have some and have problems taking off that paper....I tried it on the travel Kleenex cover. You're good at explaining all steps while making your projects. Thank you from a new subscriber!
Can’t wait to make some of these pouches. I can see putting small items inside and giving them as gifts . Can you tell me what fabric you used? I usually don’t care for brown but those fabrics were gorgeous. Thank you
Hi Rosie, thank you so much for this awesome tutorial, I’ve made so many of theses pouches, they are so quick to whip up! Might you know where I can purchase extra zipper pulls? Be well
Very nice ! But how do you sew the zipper on the outside ? Do you have a video of this how you show that you can make both ways !? Is there any difference hon ? Ty for sharing
I haven't seen the messenger bag video but is there something specific that doesn't translate directly to fabric besides possibly the interfacing weights? I can't afford leather but I have made a couple of bags from marine vinyl. I either hold out for a sale or sometimes can find a big enough coupon to buy it at "full" price.
@@karenfranceslewis1513 The interfacing possibly. I have wonderful fabric but I don't want to make it too thick with possibly wrong filament inside. So far I have managed the front part and flap I made a little larger to cover whole bag front when fiished. Truthfully I am leery of finishing the project. Thankyou
Depending on what fabric you are using and the fact that you might have to interface it would be more expensive than waxed canvas. But, I made myself one out of my son’s old jeans and I love it! And the best part was the exterior cost me nothing as that is what I used the jeans for. I get lots of compliments on it!
Watch the part of the video where I am clipping the zipper in place. When I get to the seam, you will see that I talk about the zipper tape coming to a 45 degree angle and the end of the zipper with the tab is down in the pouch. You can leave the zipper tail down in the pouch or pull it up and out of the pouch after sewing the zipper and binding in place. I hope this helps.
Annie over at ByAnnie.com did zippers during her live show last week. One thing she suggested was to get a zipper and practice ?threading? the zipper slider over and over. Since she's done them so much, she kinda just does it automatically without neededing a jig or other tool. Happy Zipping!!
The tape can gum up some needles. That is way I say it is optional and you can use clips or pins instead. You can try to apply the tape away a from the stitching line. I should mention that the next time I use tape in a tutorial. Thanks for watching.
So clear ,both video and instructions . Not so fast that you can’t follow along and all details given ..Well done Rosie .
I have been sewing for over 50 years and this is the first time I have come across this method. Thank you so much for these tutorials. You can teach an old dog new tricks.
I have been sewing over to years as well. Thanks for watching!
Rosie so glad I found you this morning. Going to rewatch your instructions for the zipper tabs on pouches again and maybe again.
The continuous zipper is a brilliant idea.

Does the zipper need to be metal or plastic or does that matter? I've never sewn a metal zipper. Thank you for this tutorial. I love the fabric too.
