What does the screw do on turning clockwise? I started getting problem of hard shifts after the yamaha mechanics did clutch adjustment. Is hard shift because the clutch is not fully disengaging from the engine?
No only change oil filter everytime. Airfilter should be cleaned and reused till 12k kms after which it must be replaced. Refer to user manual for better understanding.
The problem in this video is same as mine , gear shift is hard up and down, and also to connect to neutral is very difficult as it doesn't connect quick ,it jumps to 1 or the 2 gear..... If I apply what u have shown will it be smooth again my gear shifting...
@@joydeepbanerjee5972 we are getting rid of the freeplay of the basket and plates as with usage clutches wear out and by adjusting thr clutch cable the engagement point tend to change. Hence this brings back the original clutch feel.

@@joydeepbanerjee5972 low top speed shows an engine issue more than a transmission or clutch issue. Clutch should be only touched if you feel the clutch is slipping. There are numerous videos on youtube on how to check clutch slippage. Go by the basics first - 1. Replace air filter 2. Replace Sparkplug 3. Replace Engine oil 4. Thoroughly clean the chain with diesel / kerosene and lube it well 5. Inflate the tyres to correct pressure Check if your bike performs better after the above points. Also check if there is wet carbon on the enhaust tip which indicates worn out piston rings / bore. But do the basics first before getting into the complicated stuff.
@@joydeepbanerjee5972 I tighten engine bolts at level 7 ... And then final tightening at full lock, which means around 10Nm from that machine screw driver.

@@santoshkumarshanker8701 don't trust them. Moreover for a low compression engine like Fz why do you need slipper assist clutch. Makes more sense in high compression engines like R15, KTM 200 and 390 and other bigger engines.
Try replacing the Spark Plug and HT coil. If the carb is in perfect working condition, it should get resolved. The pilot jet and diaphragm should be checked once.

After a lot of trial, error and research I will advise to strictly drain oil every 3000 kms only. These small engines kill any oil within 3k kms be it mineral or Fully Synthetic.

If I revv it, it was freely revving as soon as I opened throttle and there was no lag. But yesterday I changed to Motul 7100 Fully synthetic oil on my FZ V3 and I feel that there is a slight lag in throttle response (if I revv it, there is little lag I felt) and slight roughness is there in engine now. This is my observation. So if don't want such lag, I might switch back to Yamalube Fully synthetic or shell semi synthetic 10w40 oil.
It's a new bike and it will smoothen up with time. Also, if this is your first Yamaha bike, practice and learn revv matching while down shifting. Example - You are crusing at 60 kmph and there is a red signal ahead, you hold the clutch and come to dead stop. Then u try to down shift, it will not work. That's gonna happen with all Yamaha bikes. Instead when dropping speed and braking ... Drop gear, leave the clutch .. again drop gear, leave the clutch ... That way you keep dropping gears till you come to dead stop. You will never again face shifting issues. Change the riding style and there will be no gearbox as good as Yamaha.
I have done this few days ago ..but unfortunately i dont know what the problem is the tyre is running contineously when i drop the bike in gear1 .i mean the tyre is running on clutch is the fault

Adjusted the clutch in local shops , has not resolved the issue .. at first the shifting used to be butterly smooth... Gearing down from 2-1 was so easy and didn't make any sound.. now it stucks on neutral and shifting sound has become loud...

I have something to ask and it's not the subject mentioned in this video. Recently i changed chain sprockets of my fz v1. I used R15 v1 chain sprocket. It was supposed to give low end torque, but i can't feel anything. I need to give extra accelaration to make the bike move. It's the same thing on my previous chain sprocket. How can i increase low end torque? The next thing is, after installation, back break lever is wobbly. Like when i'm driving the lever gets push back at me all the time. Its pushing back all the time. It pushes my feet and it goes down, it pushes up and goes down. It goes like a cycle and its really annoying. When i'm using the break, this issue goes, but i'm resting my feet on top of the lever, this issue happens. I took my bike to the workshop, but can't fix it. How can i fix this?
Firstly the you chose the wrong chain set. You should have simply gone for the Fz V2.0 with the 14T and 41T combo for more aggressive pickup. The brake pumping issue is a signal of brake drum that's out of shape by some means. I am hoping the drum was not damaged during the installation process. Loosen up the rear brake a little bit to get rid of that excessive movement.

This hard gear shift video tell you how to fix the issue. Wheel spinning with clutch pulled in is a very normal process. It's due to many factors and mainly viscous drag and mild clutch plate engagement. There is nothing to worry and it happens on all of my bikes.

The screw reduces clutch Freeplay.

No only change oil filter everytime. Airfilter should be cleaned and reused till 12k kms after which it must be replaced. Refer to user manual for better understanding.

Nope. The engine is a pretty low compression one, doesn't make sense having a slipper clutch in there.

1-2 cm freeplay is ok to have in the clutch. I prefer to not have any freeplay in both my clutch or throttle.

Unscrew the size 10 nut and then tighten the star head bolt and the tighten back the size ten night.

Go by the basics first -
1. Replace air filter

It can happen due to viscous drag and might go away after a few hundred kilometres. If you still feel yamalube was better, please use yamalube.

Firstly clean and lube the chain properly and check if it gets any better. After that if issue still persists, do the same process as in the video.

Im thinking of changing the gear shaft/spring from Yamaha service centre but i doubt if they can do it properly without messing anything up.

How is the motul 15w50 performing? Is there any lag in the engine for using a higher viscosity oil?
I am using Motul 5100 semisynthetic 15W 50. It's a very good oil.
