Just scam your fans into giving you the money to buy 10 shells like that stancypants dude did with his fans after his car burned down from his terrible work.
Honestly I’d buy those, paint em panda style put some cheap readily available motors in them, then sell them at a profit to weebs who want their magical cartoon car.
Cut the VIN off a scrapped 86, junkyard K series, and then buy the cheapest available parts to finish it off. You could easily make profit off of that.
@@camber_courtney5250 what you're describing is car cloning. The VIN is designated to that particular shell/frame. Most classic muscle cars are body on frame so swapping a new body onto it is fine but cutting the VIN off and welding it to a different car is what car theives would do to pass on stolen cars as legitimate. (Find a wrecked vehicle, cut off its VIN/stamp it onto a stolen car matching the same description as the wrecked one) If you build an entirely new car using one of these shells (given the 86 is a unibody) you'd have to register is as a new car. Not sure what the process would be in the US but in the UK where I live you'd have to register it as a kit car and get an IVA on it.
If people stopped drifting them into walls, cutting them up to make AE86 replica’s, or actually cared to preserve these cars, we wouldn’t be in this situation. But no, anime tards just had to get their grubby little hands on it, smash it into a guardrail thinking they’re Takumi, and jack up prices across the board. And the 86 community just let them instead of kicking out the clout chasers, bc they knew these morons would boost the car’s resale value. So now we’re seeing the full effects of their greed/lack of respect to the chassis
There was a local courier service where I grew up in the early 00s, they had a number of crappy 80s and 90s cars they used for deliveries. Mostly Crown Vics, Taurus's and Rangers. All with "City Courier and Notary" on the doors in block letters. But they had *one* beat up 84-ish Corolla, white with black trim and a primer grey hood. Not THE car, but close enough. I saw it all over the place, and I thought the obvious thing. One day I was at the courthouse waiting for a hearing, and I hear this guy talking to a security guard saying "Why do the kids always call me Japanese names and ask if I've got tofu?!" Even though I was there for serious business, I couldn't help a moment of mirth. I remember that every time I see a 86
With the 86 people have said that if you put more power through it or change the balance at all you f*** it up, IDK, it would almost defeat the point of an 86
The Chinese section of SEMA is my favorite, I get so much weird merch from there. One tire brand called Green Max or something gave me a calculator in year of our lord 2022.
Why can’t they sponsor themselves? Sheesh there’s like five of them. They couldn’t drop in $2k a piece to actually make some real content instead of just talking smack. Nope just cheap clickbait. Their shtick is getting old.
@@johnwesely Yeah low effort all round. They can’t even get some decent background video even though they apparently went to SEMA. Lame. I’m all for talking smack, but you gotta put up some real content too. Talking smack only takes you so far. If they want to focus on low end builds, great. There’s a market for that. But you have to actually show some builds. Anyway, whatever.
The only people I've heard truly complain about them personally are guys that probably had no idea how to find proper journal/bearing clearance. Is there anyone here that has had a bad experience with them? I can't imagine them being a worse choice than a Maxpeedingrods turbo or coilovers.
@@billspangler2685 Have a friend who ran the rods and turbo on his m52 and had no issues. But make sure to follow proper bearing clearance and whatnot and your good.
8,000 seems really steep for a chinese reproduction. i’m not in the corolla scene but that sounds like the price of a real one. but maybe i’m way wrong and they’re double that. just seems kind of ridiculous. they made tons of chassis that weren’t ae86 models that would be exactly the same right?
You´re lucky to find any of the ae86 models for less then 20k. Prolly gonna have to get pay 30k for a decent one. Literally just get a evo or smth at that point.
I can tell you, and certainly anyone who works in a bodyshop, that the frame of the ae86 in the video was not made in that factory from which the picture was taken.
Weve had basically brand new versions of 50s and 60s American cars & trucks newly made in America for awhile now. But theyre built even better than the original. They took the original tooling, jigs and stampings and modernized the process. It started with parts to replace a door or a bed and ended up with basically making every piece brand new. But they dont make any of the drivetrain usually. The concept isnt new. The idea has always been super cool. But the fact that this is made in China is kinda scary. Ive had chinese replica dirtbikes and they were junk. It would be cool to see someone not in China do this. Mainly itd be cool to just get rolling shells, specifically s13s, that you could then customize and finish with whatever engine/tranny combo you wanted. Especially if they were priced at or cheaper than a junk rolling shell on marketplace. But the startup cost would be astronomical so the msrp would be super high also.
i hope this becomes more common like companies do it with the Mustang, Camaro and other classic american cars, it would be so cool to buy a brand new RX-7

I'm all for it especially wirh cars that were loved for their availability in that package. Would love to eventually see S chassis as I've seen too many $3500 rolling chassis recently, if they don't already make them. Got an ad for it today though so they definitely make Minis, old Land Rovers, looks like an early Skyline, and 60s pickup cabs
the question is really how good the steel is. an old used stripped aee86 chassi in europe runs you like 4k euro so maybe 5k usd. if the chinese chassi is better because it will last longer i think it is worth it
Sadly im 100% sure people will see these cars as ass and chinese crap and any AE86 that's not chinese will mark up in price becuse it's "Japan made". The market will split to two with these shells.

imagine they can replicate even the most rare car frames, I don't care about the authenticity, I just want to see them run again like they used to.

"Mail order Brides" joke was underappreciated.
I contacted them when this started making the rounds, they are willing to sell the ae86 chassis individually instead of in groups of 5 or 10
I've heard similar on here, something about contacting them directly through email or something like that.
I’ve been in the 86 chassis for 25 years and it’s basically not even fun anymore. Price of entry not worth it even for China knockoffs.
