Bhuvangiri fort was built on a isolated monolithic rock, by Western Chalukya ruler TribhuvanMalla Vikramaditya VI, originally named as Tribhuvangiri.
The fort is associated with the rule of Kakatiya queen Rudramadevi and her grandson PratapRudhra.
