Is there a better or more beautiful reason for lack of a good night`s sleep than Adept? These Swedes have been around since 2004, and with their diverse brand of post hardcore / metalcore they've easily turned into Scandinavia`s best known genre export - whilst also proving with their fourth full length that years of sweaty live shows and persistence have provided the ultimate fine-tuning! The band has been working on Sleepless for the past year and have now brought the album to life through the infamous Studio Fredman. The result is evident after one listen of the album's opener ‘Black veins‘ - which not only speaks volumes about the oft-cited maturity, it also shows that Adept has found the perfect balance between raging metal and lofty post arrangements. With no need to feel ashamed of its catchiness, Sleepless is still firmly rooted in HC credibility and raw fever!

Such a shame that an amazing band like Adept have been through absolute hell and back to get this album out to their fans, only to have elitist metal-heads slating it for not being "metal" enough. This is what Adept always have and always will sound like. Don't like it? Listen to something else that you deem worthy of your metaller-than-thou time. Glad to see a big label like Napalm backing them and getting them back on their feet, even if this isn't the type of band Napalm normally go for.

as someone who has suffered from depression, I cannot get through this song without having tears in my eyes, it hits me in the heart this song, the video is perfect for this too. great song, great message as well.

The people who call this pussy core are dubstep, house, funk and pop people that love music talking about ass, money, fame, world peace (they dont care about the dark side) and the electronic people that like sounds coming from a pc!

The entire sleepless album is sick as hell. It feels like what metalcore from my highschool years deserved to be.
I totally agree with you. Couldn't have said it better myself. Listening to it right now for the first time (idk HOW I possibly missed this album before...I've been following Adept forever, I guess life got in the way)...and holy shit. This album really brings out intense feelings lol

For personal reasons i listened to this song for 21 days straight while i missed a person who was taken from me. I cried. I laughed. I screamed. I bled. I spit. I starved. I never slept . I worked ten hour days keeping myself as occupied as much ad i could but there was a person that never left my mind , i never focused...and when he cuts her strings and she falls to him. She was begging for me. And i just could not get her no matter what i tried. She was untouchable. And thatd a helpless feeling i never want to feel again. She was my rock my world i thought. I think Adept has always been a great band and their newest album was a hit just awesome.
The song sounds even heavier now, I like how in the part he starts speaking, he slowly rises his voice and ends up yelling the second half of the speech.
I think they can do great things with a legendary label like this, just hope they will not make the band change their sound for the worse like they did to certain other Swedish band , it would be a real pity

Been a fan of these guys since Another Year Of Disaster, fantastic band, got introduced to them because some of my Swedish friends were friends with them, I believe one of them is even in one of the early music videos, so awesome to see how they've evolved over the years and really become a force to reckon with in the metal scene

Whata great band. The term “metal head” is so vague now a day theres 10028302830 different genres of metal but not many bands lift you up in tough times. This song really hits home and im so glad this music is left for me to get through tough times.

Going Through a very dark period in my life and this fucking band is something extraordinary, beautiful, and full with passion. I can't wait to hear their next stuff, if I make it till then. Sleepless is probably my favorite album of all time next to Undertow by Tool. I listen to whatever can possibly lift up my soul, but there has to be truth in the lyrics and emotion in the vibrations for me to actually care to listen. Of course there's many many other talented bands out there, but Adept is one of the most honest, talented, and important bands of the generation. This is what people need, you shouldn't really give a fuck if it's "not metal enough", the message behind their music should stand out and slap you in the face. Personally I think metal core/post hardcore is a very misunderstood genre, and I think it's mostly due to not enough emotion and creativity being put into the genre. Adept does everything perfect and if you're in a very rough situation, never hesitate to turn them on.

is it weird that the re recording remind me of Another Year of Disaster? the vocals sounds more the tone of that album than of Secrets, and the emphasis in the production seems to be more on the melodic guitar rather than the bass. AYOD is still their best imho - so going back to a sound like that? No problem here!
Regardless though, Adept has yet to release an album that I dont absolutely love. This can't drop soon enough

I am a huge deathcore/heavier metalcor fan, but for some reason i love this band, even with their more post hardcore sound. No reason to hate on them for not being as "heavy" as other bands. Though i will admit Another Year of Disaster is by far my favourite album
