Do you feel like online boutiques are becoming saturated? Even for myself, I feel like when I go shopping online there’s so many options to choose from… I’m wondering if a brick and mortar these days will make a Boutique stand out
I think no matter what, if you sell basic stuff- it's going to be competitive on price only and that sucks. The challenge with an online boutique is that you are a digital marketer. You only get traffic from actively posting and engaging. With a good location at a b&m you have built in, walk by traffic that's more likely to walk in and buy. It's not about saturation, it's about how you feel best working and getting really good at that.
Hello my mother and I started a mobile boutique. We have been going back and forth about a website we have one but it has nothing on it right now. We were thinking about having owl be Bougie Boutique Merch because we make a lot of our tshirts so it would be easy to fill orders instead of using our inventory from our mobile boutique. We go to shows like every weekend and it’s too hard to refill inventory I think from the trailer to online orders. But instead of a website we were thinking about doing live sells like comment sold on Facebook with some of our singles and sale items here every few weeks but can you please let me know what you think we should do. 😊
If you use a PoS system like Shopify it’s incredibly easy to add an online storefront with the same merchandise you sell in your mobile boutique. The thing is, it’s like adding another location that needs to have an entire strategy around it to make revenue. My best advice is to have a really solid info and events based website where you can start to exist on Google search and have a home base for people to see where you’ll be and what you sell.
Hi as always I love your videos and enjoy all you tips. I am in a curated space with about 14 venders and it’s not easy I try to stay neutral but it’s hard. There is a lot of treading on toes selfishness watching all of your sales, calculating your $$ and yes at times we help each other but there is also jealousy. Would like a tip on how to be in my own business without all the drama. When I opened last year it seemed to be a good thing and yes my business as succeed but can’t deal with the drama that has come with it. As being in my own space would be the answer financially am not sure I am prepared enough . Look forward to hearing your tip. Terri
What a tough situation Terri! I agree the threat is there with other people, even if you play it cool, there will always be someone who is competitive for no good reason. I think it depends on where you are- can you get a good location for a rent that feels doable to you? I'd start calling around empty spaces asking prices to get the lay of the land. It's really a research heavy phase for you as you grow the business. Just do what you need to keep things positive in your current space and maybe thing will change? Or you will get out!
Omg I’m the same way I’m glad you mention the website and storefront cause I was torn between the two and I thought I had to have both but I’m more for the store front myself.I worked in retail since 2005 at Charlotte Russe and Express VS Tjmaxx Gabe’s and was Assisting Manger at Rainbow shop so I’m more experienced with store front
I'm not sure why I was removed me from your fb group. I just got in yesterday and was doing research. I hit a few likes and I was thinking of even purchasing your books but now I'm no longer in the group. It says cannot reload.😢 I just responded to a realtor and he will be submitting my offer for this brick and mortar so not sure if I will get spot but have always on and off thinking of opening one Can I get in the fb group again. I don't even think I posted anything or comment? Not sure. I remember hitting a few likes.
I’m so glad you’re enjoying the group! We don’t ever removed people so I’m not sure why it’s not working for you? Can you access it from desktop or mobile? Try a different approach?
I have a beautiful website. Decent personal fb following where I share my page and haven't received one sale. I'm not getting any traffic and getting discouraged. I've tried so many things. 😓
@@Emilyboutique ok I maybe exaggerated a tad with "so many things" I've just put every penny into getting open and not making one sale has me discouraged. I sell nice women's Western boho clothing. Mostly dresses ATM. Thank you for your reply and videos they have actually helped me with several hurdles. Also I've only been open for about a month now..
Hi love our content would love to know what are your thoughts on starting a plus size boutique and running it via the e-commerce space.
Love it!!

Go the storefront route then!! I have lots of clients who absolutely LOVE having a storefront!

How long have you been open? What do you sell? What are “so many things” you’ve tried?

Thank God I am going to avoid that, I was going to do online, brick and mortar and the farmer's market
Start with one?
@@Emilyboutique that makes sense! I think starting with online and doucs on getting that established is the best route! Thank you for that advice!!
