This video is about a very rare and antique old Caucasian Dagger Khanjali with a length of 35 cm, dated back to the late 18th or early 19th century. We can see the blade is forged from forged steel. The blade has a characteristic recurve shape, typical for the daggers of Caucasian region. The tang has two rivets and is stamped with

This is an old Caucasian dagger that I restored. The Khanjali Dagger is one of the most expensive and sought-after daggers in the world. This is a great example of what I can do to restore your new or old dagger!
The item has the stamp of the first half of the 19th century. Georgian name is Khanjali and Satevari. The dagger itself was badly corroded by rust. Especially the cutting edge. Well, let's start the restoration!

Lovely work, but I'll admit that it hurt my soul when you put the sword back in the sheath after using it without wiping it off first.

yes .thank you so much 👍💓
Cracking🙏👍👍job my friend
That is beautiful. But I’ve always wondered why the wood is not oiled/waxed before the embellishments are attached. Doesn’t that mean the untreated parts might degrade more quickly?
thank you so much👍 your comment make me happy my friend
Beautiful. (Don't use olive oil. It soaks into the wood then spoils and goes rank with time and will start to stink)
What makes it Caucasian? Does it like potato salad and khakis?
This is not a proper restoration. Nothing is left from the original shape
As a Caucasian, I approve this.
first time we ever see your face!
thank you so much 👍💓
It's traditional dagger and tradition don't change. You changed the typical traditional handle shape and the fixing way. So it is no more a kindjal.

Gladius (Roman)

How to kill very old sword...
Do you really have to cut that handle?
Ease way...
На рестоврацию вообще не тянет! Лень было поинтресоваться как выглядят ножны и рукоять кавказского кинжала? Получилась поделка из "Детского Мира"- магазин детской игрушки раньше был в России.
It's a pretty wall hanger. But I did not see you temper the edge so I personally wouldn't pay $30 for it. Without a hardened blade it's not a trustworthy blade. But you made a pretty decoration
i did but i forgot control the camera battery
@@howtorestore didn't see you do it so man as far as me and everyone else knows that blade is not heat treated and therefore is worthless
I think the video editing should be improve. From doing the guard then jump to sheath then back again to the guard and handle. Quite confusing though the consistent of doing in each step. Just my opinion, it's your style anyways. Peace ✌️
Of course you understand by doing all of that cutting, grinding, and welding on the blade and reshaping the blade that you destroyed any sort of collector value it had?
Restoration is one thing, but taking a historic artifact like that and doing all of that customizing is insanity.
